About the job Product & Pricing Manager
Job Purpose:
To manage the full product lifecycle and pricing strategy to maximize profitability, competitiveness, and market growth. The Product & Pricing Manager oversees product portfolio planning, market analysis, pricing structures, and supports sales and marketing teams with data-driven insights and product positioning.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage the full product lifecycle planning, launch, performance monitoring, and phase-out.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
- Define product positioning, specifications, and value propositions.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and technical teams to support new product introductions.
- Monitor product performance and propose improvements or adjustments.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
- Analyze market pricing, competitor offerings, and cost structures to recommend pricing updates.
- Set wholesale, retail, and promotional pricing in coordination with finance and sales teams.
- Monitor margins and profitability by product line and recommend corrective actions.
- Support tender pricing and special project quotations.
- Conduct regular market and competitive analysis to support decision-making.
- Prepare pricing and product performance reports for senior management.
- Identify business opportunities and gaps in the market to expand product offerings.
- Work closely with marketing to develop product communication and launch strategies.
- Support sales with product knowledge, pricing rationales, and commercial support.
- Coordinate with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure product availability and forecasting accuracy.
- Evaluate the financial viability of new products and pricing changes.
- Provide profitability, elasticity, and cost-impact analysis for proposed price adjustments.
- Control product-related budgets and contribute to annual business planning.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field.
- Masters degree (MBA) is an advantage.
Experience:
- 5 - 7 years of experience in product management, pricing, or commercial roles.
- Experience in automotive, consumer electronics, retail, power products, or related industries is preferred.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle and pricing models.
Competencies:
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent understanding of market dynamics and competitive strategy.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, data analysis tools, and ERP/CRM systems.
- Strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects.
