Reporting to the Finance Director and working under the supervision of the Fees Manager, the Fees Administrator is expected to assist in providing an efficient fees collection process for members of chambers as well as providing ad-hoc support to both the Fees Manager and the Finance Director as and when required. You will work as part of a small team that has responsibility of billing and credit control from start to finish, liaising with the practice management teams and individual barristers to manage WIP and aged debt.

About the role:

  • Fees collection carrying out appropriate and timely fees collection to reach annual target
  • Billing processing details of work done by barristers, rendering fee notes and invoices including billing multi-currency, sensitive and often high-profile cases
  • Queries and service dealing with both routine and complicated queries regarding fees and payments. Providing an overall excellent standard of service to members and their professional clients
  • Member payments managing the bank accounts used for received Barristers fees, including processing member fee payments
  • Communication Liaise with clerks, Members, and clients via telephone, email, and face to face meetings, regarding non, over and under payments on cases
  • General administration complete ad-hoc tasks as instructed by the Fees Manager

Essential experience & skills:

  • 5 years in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Lex case management system
  • Excellent telephone manner when speaking with clients, members or staff

Desired experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of BarStat

  • Strong oral and written communications skills, and appropriate telephone manner
  • A careful, organised, and conscientious approach with strong numeracy experience and excellent attention to detail

Further details:

Working hours will be 08:30 to 17:30.

Hybrid working consists of one day WFH a week.
