Freelance Category Manager Capex – Hoboken / Olen

For an international industrial organization with a large Capex investment portfolio, we are looking for an experienced freelance Category Manager Capex Procurement. You will play a key role in shaping and executing category strategies for major engineering, construction and equipment projects in an international context.

Your role

• Develop and execute category strategies across Capex projects
• Analyze project pipelines, spend and incumbent suppliers
• Integrate market intelligence and identify standardization opportunities
• Lead source-to-contract processes, including negotiations and contract management
• Work closely with Engineering and Project Procurement Managers
• Act as single point of contact for strategic suppliers and manage supplier relationships
• Identify and mitigate supply, financial and operational risks
• Ensure compliance with procurement processes and support audits

Your profile

• University degree in Engineering, Economics or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Procurement Category Manager
• At least 7 years of procurement experience in an industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of Capex procurement and industrial contracting
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in international and matrix organizations
• Fluent in written and spoken English

• Duration: until end of 2026, extension possible
• Work regime: full-time, minimum 3 days per week onsite
• Location: Hoboken or Olen
• Context: international industrial Capex projects
