Typical Day in the Life
A typical day as a Business Valuation Manager might include:
- Conduct and manage valuation engagements for a variety of purposes including tax and financial reporting, transactions and litigation support.
- Manage multiple projects and ensure timely delivery and quality work.
- Network and perform business development activities through presentations, articles and other publications.
- Identify ways to work with clients in addition to valuation services, potentially including succession planning, benchmarking and other advisory services.
- Develop new client relationships and have a strong network of referral sources.
- Work with team to brainstorm and solve problems.
- Assist audit and tax teams in valuation and special projects.
Who You Are
- You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field required.
- You have 5+ years of experience in business valuation required including litigation support, wealth management, and transaction services required.
- You have an ABV, AVA, CVA or ASA certification required; CPA preferred.
- You have experience with valuation methodology including the Relief-from-Royalty Method, Excess Earnings Method, Distributor Method, and With-and-Without Method.
- You have experience with the Black-Scholes Option Pricing Method for stock-based compensation valuations (409a and ASC 718) to value and allocate the total equity value among various classes of securities.
- You have experience working with closely-held businesses in diverse industries preferred.
- You are inquisitive and enjoy learning about various client business processes.
- You have knowledge in business valuation, wealth management and transaction services.
- You hold yourself to the highest professional standards and enjoy mentoring others.
Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
