We are currently seeking a Release Manager / Department Manager - REMOTE to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri (US-MO), United States (US).
Release Manager isresponsible for scheduling, planning, and controlling the software's development and delivery process. Additionally, department management responsibilities for team leadership are required. Working and coordinating across the developers, project managers, customer and across numerous integrated departments.
Day to Day job Duties:(what this person will do on a daily/weekly basis)
- Experienced in leading and guiding others on cross-functional projects outside of their own department.
- Emphasis on migration project release planning and coordination across teams.
- Produce Schedules, Domain Deployment Plans and Implementation Plans
- Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams in a virtual disparate environment.
- Weekly Release Reporting and leadership communications.
- Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required
- Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
Qualifications: (what are the skills required to this job with minimum years of experience on each)
- 8 years of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
- 8 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
- Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
- Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
- General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, working Knowledge of Access
Degree: Bachelor's in computer science or equivalent work experience.
Nice to Have; (But not a must)
- Formal training in project management practices preferred.
- PMP Certification
