We're looking for an enthusiastic and technically-minded individual to join our Sales team as a Sales Engineer. Essential Functions
- Develop a strong understanding of our decanter applications, engineered technologies, and services across various industries.
Learn to support the information flow rate process.
- Assist in customer acquisition and customer service management activities.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining our products or services to potential and existing customers, and learn how to assess their equipment needs to determine system requirements.
Learn to prepare data analysis related to centrifuge separation.
- Collaborate with experienced sales team members to understand customer requirements and provide technical sales support.
Assist in troubleshooting issues with installed equipment for clients.
- Learn to recommend improved materials or machinery to customers by understanding comparison analyses on cost and production impacts.
- Contribute to ensuring customer satisfaction through quality control in equipment sales, working alongside senior team members.
- Travel availability - The frequency of travel and the areas you may need to visit will be dependent on your performance in the role.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in technical sales and a desire to learn about our products and industry.
- Foundational knowledge in technical areas, particularly rotating machines, is a plus.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Developing problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to develop presentation abilities.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or related technical field (e.g., Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial).
- While prior managerial experience is not required, any experience in the listed primary industries (chemical, food, oil & gas, fishing, agriculture, mining, pharmaceutical) or customer-facing roles is a plus.
- Proficiency in English is essential. While Japanese language skills are highly valued, they are not a strict requirement for candidates who demonstrate strong technical aptitude and learning potential.
Supervision
- Candidates must be highly motivated and capable of working autonomously, as formal training programs are not in place.
Skills/Abilities
- Solid foundational analytical skills in MS products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Ability to learn to read blueprints.
- Developing strong verbal, written, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Willingness to learn how to generate technical reports.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
Eagerness to develop research and analytical skills.
Proficient in English.
Contacts:
- Internal Contacts
Regular interaction with the President, supervisors, shop, and office staff to learn about products, processes, and customer needs, requiring tactfulness and a cooperative attitude.
- External Contacts
Initial interactions may be alongside senior team members with professionals, client representatives, and supplier technicians, with increasing independent interaction as experience grows.
Environment
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with potential exposure to varying temperatures and conditions, as well as electrical and other hazards.
Work includes time in offices, as well as walking, standing, or sitting.
Physical Demands:
Occasional lifting may be required.
- Frequent standing and walking may occur during work in the showroom and potential quality control checks in the Service Center.
- Appropriate safety equipment (PPE) will be provided when working in areas with moderate noise and metal particles.
Mental Requirements:
- This role requires the ability to learn and perform basic business and technical mathematical computations.
- You must be able to communicate clearly and coherently in both spoken and written English.
