A leading Japanese distributor is seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join the team and contribute to our continued success.
【Job Summary】
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient and accurate receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of Japanese food products. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to maintain high standards of food safety and inventory management. Fluency in both Japanese and English is essential to facilitate effective communication with internal teams, suppliers, and potentially international partners.
【Key Responsibilities】
- Supervise Warehouse Operations: Direct and oversee the daily activities of warehouse staff, including receiving, put-away, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping.
- Team Leadership & Training: Lead, motivate, train, and mentor a team of warehouse associates, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Conduct performance reviews and address any performance-related issues.
- Inventory Management: Implement and maintain accurate inventory control procedures, conduct regular cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
- Shipping & Receiving: Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, verify accuracy of orders, and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Quality Control & Food Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and quality control procedures (e.g., HACCP, FIFO). Monitor product temperatures and storage conditions.
- Equipment & Maintenance: Oversee the proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) and ensure a safe working environment.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize warehouse workflow.
- Communicate with suppliers or clients.
- Train and direct staff members.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational metrics.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
【Qualifications】
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- 1+ years of experience in a warehouse environment, preferably in food distribution.
- 1+ year of experience in a supervisory or lead role.
- Business Fluency in both English and Japanese.
- Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklift certification a plus).
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various warehouse temperatures (e.g., refrigerated areas).
【Working Conditions】
- Work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, including refrigerated and freezer sections.
- May require occasional overtime and weekend work based on business needs.
