Job description;
Responsibilities:
Working closely with the global research production team based in Asia, Europe, and the US, the DTP specialist will be responsible for the timely publication of bilingual (Japanese & English) equity research products for institutional investors. These products will be distributed on the firm's website and third-party vendor digital platforms while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and internal requirements for quality and style.
- Registering Japanese publications into the system, designing layouts (including complex graphs and tables) for English documents, and reviewing data and translated text for research products.
- Maintaining daily communication with the global team in a timely and effective manner to ensure smooth publishing of research products that cover market activities seamlessly.
- Collaborating with translators, analysts, and stakeholders from various locations to ensure timely progress and completion of projects.
- Producing and distributing daily highlights and newsletters in English and Japanese, utilizing the firm's in-house publication systems.
- Undertaking duties related to the preparation of research products, including liaising with outsourced translators.
- Having a physical presence in the Lower Manhattan office for at least three days per week (possible to work remotely up to two days per week).
Skills:
- Advanced expertise in MS Word and Excel, specifically in macro and style functions for Word, and complex formulas and graph components for Excel.
- Excellent command of both Japanese and English languages; experience in editing, proofreading, and publication, along with familiarity with business/finance/accounting terminology and concepts would be advantageous.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in managing high volumes of emails using MS Outlook.
- Attention to detail, with a keen focus on data accuracy and stylistic nuances.
- Ability to understand and adhere to internal and external rules, policies, and procedures as they relate to equity research production.
- Capability to multitask while adapting flexibly to changing priorities.
- Excellent team player, with the ability to work collaboratively.
