About the Opportunity
A prominent national accounting and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager (Bilingual: Japanese / English) to join its growing Japanese Services Practice in the Metro Detroit area. This is a key leadership role serving Japanese corporate clients in North America, overseeing audit engagements, and working alongside both local and international teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and execute audit engagements for U.S. subsidiaries of Japanese parent companies (primarily in manufacturing, logistics, and trading sectors).
- Act as the primary liaison between local U.S. management, Japanese executive teams, and multicultural engagement staff.
- Review financial statements, audit documentation, and internal control assessments in compliance with U.S. GAAP and auditing standards.
- Manage engagement economics, project timelines, budgets, and staff allocation.
- Mentor, train, and supervise senior accountants and audit staff.
- Support business development and networking opportunities with Japanese business leadership in the region.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Language Skills: Professional fluency in Japanese and English (both written and spoken) is required.
- Experience: 5+ years of public accounting audit experience (Audit Senior, Supervisor, or Manager level). Public accounting firm experience required (Big 4 or mid-tier firm background preferred).
- Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA license strongly preferred (or active eligibility).
- Work Arrangement: Onsite/Hybrid availability in the Troy, MI area (100% fully remote is not permitted).
- Relocation: Candidates willing to relocate from other states are encouraged to apply (relocation reimbursement provided).
- Work Authorization: U.S. work authorization required.
