Job Summary:
The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for estimating, preparing bid documentation, and managing commercial electrical projects and change orders from initiation to completion. This role involves collaborating with the sales team, project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Estimate and prepare competitive bid proposals for commercial electrical projects and change orders.
- Collaborate with sales and project management teams to determine the best approach, value, and pricing.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers and contractors to solicit new opportunities.
- Ensure profitability and cost control for each project.
- Manage project plans, specifications, bid documents, work orders, change orders, purchase orders, and schedules.
- Prepare and submit bids promptly.
- Research, obtain, and negotiate competitive pricing for materials.
- Communicate effectively with sales, project managers, contractors, field foremen, engineers, architects, and customers.
- Support field and office teams with site visits and project tracking.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring project objectives and timelines are met.
- Promote company philosophy, processes, values, and safety requirements.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline projects, processes, and operations.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in electrical estimating, project management, construction management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in estimating and managing commercial electrical projects.
- Proficiency in Autocad, SAGE Construction applications, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to anticipate changes and provide effective solutions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively and operate motor vehicles.
- Sufficient vision to read documents and navigate job sites.
- Ability to walk over uneven terrain and understand office and field work environments.
Tools and Equipment:
- Familiarity with standard computer programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
- Use of appropriate safety wear on construction sites.
- Exposure to various conditions in warehouses and construction sites.
