About the job Junior/ Graduate Transit & Rail Operations Analyst
Role and Responsibilities

Be involved in supporting projects’ tasks with our Railroad and Transit Team with a focus on the development and analysis of operations and service plans
-
Work on tasks requiring analysis of a wide range of transit performance activities, train schedules and service plans, and operating plans applicable to transit agencies and passenger railroads

Collect and analyze data associated with service planning and simulation model inputs and outputs
-
Develop an understanding of track and signal drawings, technical specifications, trains schedules and operating plan details becoming proficient in their analysis and application

Contribute to preparation of reports pertaining to the project tasks and activities described above
Knowledge & Experience
-
Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering or related major course of study

0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, and full Microsoft office suite

Excellent research skills with analytical mindset
-
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience

Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
-
Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives

Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools
-
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Awesome To Have

Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Visio preferred

Familiarity with New York and surrounding metropolitan areas rail operations
-
Prior internship related to the degree of study and the specific engineering discipline
