About the job Junior/ Graduate Structural Engineer
Role and Responsibilities

The Structures Department successfully delivers bridge, highway, commercial building, retaining wall, marine and other specialty “one-of-a-kind” structures for a wide variety of clients across the country

Under close supervision, this candidate will perform routine assignments which are clearly defined and require the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures

Assisting project managers and senior engineers in the development of plans and specifications for bridge and transportation related building projects

Prepare basic sketches and perform calculations in support of broader engineer activities

Assisting in development and drafting of CAD details for project design documents
-
Participating in project document review and preparing the necessary revisions and correspondence for distribution

Gather, review and modify information to be used for writing project specifications
-
Review vendor drawings to assure compliance with specifications
-
Perform basic calculations and analysis

Assist with quantity and cost estimates
-
Assist with field work required to support the design of various projects

Prepare technical studies and reports
-
Perform routine engineering functions and other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Experience
-
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree from an accredited college/university in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural engineering

0-1 year of relevant engineering experience through internships or equivalent. Working knowledge/experience is preferred but not required

Ability to use 3D AutoCAD and REVIT is essential. Ability to use Bentley MicroStation is a plus. Candidates will be assessed on their experience using REVIT and other relevant structural design and analysis computer programs

Excellent written and oral communication skills
