Commercial Manager

We are partnering with an established Australian civil infrastructure contractor to recruit an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee commercial strategy, contractual risk and financial performance across major infrastructure projects in Sydney.

We partner closely with contractors, engineering consultancies and delivery organisations to place high quality technical professionals. Our approach is relationship led and commercially grounded, built on practical industry experience and a clear understanding of how complex projects are delivered.

Initially office-based in Sydney, the role will support major project tenders, commercial reviews and mobilisation activities across transport, water and civil infrastructure. Following project award, the successful candidate will transition into a project-based leadership position on a major Western Sydney infrastructure project.

The role covers the full project lifecycle, including bid strategy, contract administration, procurement, cost control, forecasting, claims, variations, commercial negotiations and project close-out.

Key Requirements:

• Significant commercial management experience with major civil construction or infrastructure contractors.
• Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce, Business or a related discipline.
• Strong contract administration, commercial governance and risk management experience.
• Proven ability to manage project financial performance, forecasting, cost reporting and commercial outcomes.
• Experience managing complex claims, variations, contractual negotiations and disputes.
• Demonstrated involvement from tender and procurement through project delivery and close-out.
• Strong leadership capability and experience managing commercial teams, clients, subcontractors and delivery partners.

Ideal Candidate: An established Commercial Manager with a strong Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil infrastructure background, ideally across major roads or transport projects, capable of leading commercial strategy from tender through to construction delivery.
