Our client is a specialist geotechnical consultancy delivering projects across infrastructure, mining, energy and construction throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The business is known for its practical engineering approach and strong technical capability, supporting projects from early-stage site investigations through to construction phase services and project delivery.

With a strong and growing pipeline of work across Queensland, they are looking to appoint an Engineering Geologist with civil & mining know-how to join their Brisbane team. 

This role offers a healthy mix of field investigations, geological logging, technical reporting and client interaction across both mining and infrastructure projects.

This opportunity would suit someone with more than 3 years of experience who enjoys a mix of field work, technical analysis and client interaction, and who is keen to gain exposure to a broad range of projects across both underground mining and civil infrastructure.

The Role

You will be part of a collaborative geology & geotechnical team delivering investigations, analysis and advisory services across an enviable variety of infrastructure and mining projects, with the wider team having a very well established renewables and transmission footprint.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering geological site investigations
  • Logging and interpreting subsurface conditions
  • Preparing geological reports and recommendations
  • Supporting construction phase services and site activities
  • Working closely with contractors, clients and internal engineering teams
  • Contributing to projects across regional Queensland where required

About You

We are interested in speaking with candidates who ideally bring consulting experience within engineering geology environments and a practical, site-focused mindset.

Queensland project experience is strongly preferred. RPEQ registration is highly regarded for more senior candidates.

You will likely have:

  • More than 3 years of experience in engineering geology, ideally within a consulting environment
  • A degree in Geology or a related discipline
  • Experience or strong interest in site investigations and construction phase services
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with site teams, clients and internal stakeholders
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and learning
  • Flexibility to travel for site work and regional projects when required
