Site Engineer – Urban Development (Subdivision Delivery)

See the Bigger Picture—From Raw Land to Community

Most engineers build projects.

At our client, you help create communities.

From the earliest stages of land acquisition through to final delivery, every decision shapes the outcome—how the land is formed, how services are integrated, and how efficiently projects are delivered.

As a Site Engineer, you'll sit on the developer side of the equation—working closely with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to ensure subdivision projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the expected standard.

This is a role for someone who wants to step beyond pure construction—and understand the full development lifecycle.

Why This Role Matters

On the developer side, success is about more than just building.

It's about:

  • Managing cost, program, and risk across the full project
  • Coordinating multiple stakeholders
  • Ensuring delivery aligns with broader commercial objectives

You'll play a key role in making sure projects run efficiently—and deliver the outcomes the business is targeting.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll act as the link between design, construction, and commercial outcomes.

You'll:

  • Oversee civil contractors delivering subdivision works
  • Monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance
  • Review drawings, methodologies, and staging strategies
  • Coordinate with consultants (civil, services, geotech, survey)
  • Assist in managing budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking
  • Identify risks early—particularly around services, ground conditions, and staging
  • Support contract administration, variations, and claims assessment
  • Contribute to project programming and delivery strategy

You're not just delivering the job—you're protecting the project outcome.

What Makes This Role Different

At Landy Developments, you're not tied to one contractor or one perspective.

You'll:

  • See multiple projects across different stages
  • Gain exposure to commercial and development decision-making
  • Work closely with senior leadership on project strategy
  • Develop a broader skillset beyond pure engineering

This is an ideal pathway into Development Management or Project Management roles.

About You

You're someone who wants to understand the why behind how projects are delivered.

You likely:

  • Have experience in subdivision or civil construction (contractor or consultancy side)
  • Hold a Civil Engineering degree or similar
  • Understand construction methodologies and sequencing
  • Are commercially aware and interested in project outcomes—not just tasks
  • Communicate well across contractors, consultants, and internal teams
  • Want to broaden your career beyond site delivery

Typical Projects

  • Master planned communities
  • Multi-stage subdivision developments
  • Civil infrastructure packages (roads, drainage, services)
  • Land development from acquisition through to delivery

Why Our Client

They offer a different perspective on civil engineering—one focused on end-to-end development.

What that means for you:

  • Exposure to the full lifecycle of projects
  • Broader commercial and strategic involvement
  • Opportunity to transition into development-focused roles
  • A more holistic view of how projects are created and delivered

What Success Looks Like

  • Contractors delivering efficiently and to standard
  • Risks identified and managed early
  • Projects tracking to program and budget
  • Strong coordination across all stakeholders

If This Sounds Like You

This is an opportunity to:

  • Step beyond traditional site engineering
  • Build a broader, more commercial skillset
  • And play a role in shaping entire communities—not just constructing them
