We are recruiting a Safety Advisor for a major transport infrastructure client supporting the operation and maintenance of critical road assets across Sydney.
The role will work closely with frontline teams, supervisors, managers and contractors to support HSEQ performance across a live TfNSW road environment.

Safety Advisor will be responsible to provide specialist HSEQ advice and support to the project in the development, implementation, measuring & evaluation and reporting on compliance with HSEQ Management Systems.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide key support in the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of HSE policies, management plan and associated procedures.
- Actively implement all HSE initiatives.
- Conduct regular routine HSE audits programs and inspections.
- Complete incident / injury investigations as required.
- Assist in monitoring and ensuring organisational legislative and contractual compliance in relation to health, safety and environmental requirements and workplace practices.
- Ensure that HSE risks related to operation and maintenance activities whether carried out by employees or contractors are properly managed.
- Provide coaching and training to employees as required.
- Provide leadership to ensure the highest standard of safety is maintained for all stakeholders at all times.
- Monitor and review contractor safety procedures.
- Provide specialist HSEQ guidance to line managers, HSE representatives and employees.
- Promote use of Job Pre-Start Checks / SWMS tools via inductions, field visits & reviews.
- Oversee HSEQ incident investigation to meet internal and regulatory timeframes.
About You
- Minimum of tertiary OH&S and relevant industry experience.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Minimum 5 years experience in similar role.
- Experience in road asset maintenance, road infrastructure, civil works or a comparable live operational environment.
- Proven experience engaging with frontline staff, supervisors, managers, clients and regulatory authorities.
- Strong practical understanding of HSEQ systems, audits, incident investigations, SWMS and contractor safety.
- Able to provide practical safety solutions and influence teams at both site and management level.
