About the Role
Our client is a major infrastructure services contractor delivering road asset maintenance and management programs across Sydney under a long-term performance contract with a NSW Government road authority.
The Customer & Stakeholder Advisor is a frontline community and stakeholder engagement role within a small, senior team. It is the public face of the business across the contract zone — managing community impact before, during, and after works. The role reports to the Customer & Stakeholder Manager and works closely with the Director of Strategy and Network Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact for community, stakeholder, and customer enquiries relating to planned and reactive works
- Support and run community consultations including door-knocks, letter drops, and stakeholder meetings
- Draft community engagement plans and public-facing collateral, coordinating approvals through the Customer & Stakeholder Manager
- Organise distribution of communications across traditional and digital channels
- Coordinate with local councils and internal operations teams on road environment issues including vegetation, graffiti, and litter — including door-knocking and letter drops where works affect private land
- Manage the community enquiry line and inbox, triaging and escalating issues as appropriate
- Maintain accurate records in Consultation Manager and close out all interactions
- Contribute to weekly reporting obligations and support preparation of government correspondence relevant to the contract zone
- Support research and survey programs to develop stakeholder insights across the contract zone
About You
- Demonstrated experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, or a related communications field
- Exposure to construction, infrastructure, or engineering environments
- Current driver's licence — the role involves site visits and door-knocking
- Tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or Journalism (desirable)
- IAP2 certification or working towards it (desirable)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident engaging with a diverse range of people from residents to government stakeholders
