Market screening & deal sourcing

  • Oversee investment funnel on a selected numbers of key business verticals / geographies.
  • Support local teams in deal sourcing.
  • Be the day-to-day local/regional ambassador of non-organic growth.

Investment process

  • Be the day-to-day process owner and sparring partner for all stakeholders, esp. local teams.
  • Drive and support investment thesis origination, often in close cooperation with local teams.
  • Identify and shortlist possible targets for acquisition or partnership, often in close cooperation with local teams.
  • Lead due diligence process and coordinate deal execution & negotiations (incl. valuation and financing), supported by our central M&A execution team.
  • Draft supporting documentation and help present investment opportunity to senior management.
  • Possibly travel to project site as part of the investment evaluation process.

Portfolio management & acceleration

  • Drive post-acquisition integration process, possibly with on-site travel.
  • Actively help drive value creation during the holding period if multi-local / global investment.
  • Support value creation on an as-needed basis if purely local investment.

Strategy

  • Support strategy implementation and annual review.
  • Provide market insights in relation to strategy development
  • Drive special strategic projects on ad-hoc basis.

Who are we looking for?

  • You have excellent academic credentials with a consistent track record.
  • You possess 4-7 years of relevant work experience in top-tier private equity, venture capital, investment banking, management consulting, transaction services and/or corporate development (in-house).
  • You are an initiative taker & self-starter with strong work ethic and a desire to learn and constantly challenge the status quo.
  • You are able to work autonomously and drive impact within a multi-layered stakeholder landscape.
  • You are open-minded, collaborative in team constellations and enjoy working in a fast-paced multicultural setting.
  • You are equipped with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • You are able to meet deadlines and go the extra mile when required.
  • You possess strong modelling and presentation skills.
  • Previous maritime and/or B2B service industry exposure would be a plus (but not mandatory).
  • Some international travel may be required.
