Job Description

Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide academic leadership and support in the management and delivery of assigned modules for the Degree Programmes, which include:
  • undertaking 18 - 20 contact/teaching hours per week in Fine Art modules during term time
  • designing, preparing and developing module/teaching materials
  • contributing towards review of curriculum and academic activities
  • maintaining records relating to students progress, performance and attendance
  • supervising and assessing students assignments/works/projects
  • performing administrative duties as expected of an academic staff
  • providing additional support to Fine Art modules (Diploma), including art history and theory, when required
  • Assist in the planning and organization of a variety of activities, such as Open House or any internal/external events
  • Mentor and provide pastoral care and support to students, including career guidance and Industry-based learning (IBL) supervision
  • Establish and maintain links with the industry and institutions, so as to foster a total approach of academic pursuit alongside with industry practice
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time

Requirements

  • Minimum Masters degree in Fine Art or related, preferably with a PhD
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching and relevant working experience
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and results-oriented with the ability to engage students in their learning
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • A team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong track record of research/practice, with actual or potential for research output in your chosen field
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
