Onsite IT Support Technician, Singapore

What about the role:
The on-site Desktop Support Technician\Field Engineer role is fast paced. Technicians to ensure end users can accomplish business tasks by receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help request and incident issue tickets. Technicians must have a comprehensive understanding of computer hardware and software. In addition, they must possess excellent communication skills to assist computer users.

What you will be doing?

  • Escalating IT issues to the IT manager where necessary
  • Responsible for managing backups and tape rotation
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
  • Undertaking small- to medium-sized IT projects as instructed by the IT manager
  • Providing desktop and server support
  • Supporting and maintaining MS Server/Desktops and MS Exchange
  • Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops
  • Installing authorised software to laptops and desktops
  • Ensuring security and upgrades are applied to desktops and laptops and kept up to date
  • Antivirus installation to all desktops and laptops
  • Fault finding to laptops and desktops
  • Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, desktops and laptops
  • Completing internal user moves including phones
  • Patching of network and phones
  • Ensuring all logs for equipment and users are maintained
  • Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software
  • Ensuring licensing for all software purchased is recorded and maintained
  • Exchange server mailbox maintenance including archiving mailboxes
  • Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements


What are we looking for?

  • 4+ years of strong experience providing Desktop Support or Field Services which includes troubleshooting hardware, software, connectivity, and operating system issues
  • Resolving issues without impacting / violating the hardware warranty or customer security Experience with IT infrastructure area support - DSS, Multiple Workstation OS (Window, Mac), Multiple Mobile OS (Android, iOS), Networking, Printing Services, etc.
  • Experience with the following: Active Directory, Group Policies, IIS, scripting, server HW, Systems compliance requirements.
  • Experience in supporting Microsoft office and associated applications/add-ins support
  • Knowledge of basic networking, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, TCP/IP
  • Experience supporting users on Microsoft O365, MS Teams and MDM (workspace)
  • Experience of SCCM automated build and software package deployment.
  • Experience in fulfilling the Starter and Leaver requests (i.e., set-up of desktop / laptop / IPAD, installing screens, patch port cabling, software configuration, mobile setup)
  • Experience in supporting performance and client related issues resolutions
  • Asset management and recording ability. Maintain and report hardware asset stock
  • Hands and Feet support for Infra devices (Network and Servers) Technical support on need basis.
