The Marketing Writer serves on one of several interdisciplinary brand teams in the Office of Communications and Marketing at the University of South Carolina. This writer is responsible for crafting on-brand marketing copy for a range of audiences that drives engagement and enhances the universitys reputation. The successful candidate will have proven expertise in writing persuasive storytelling and marketing materials for print, web/digital, broadcast and social media and the ability to skillfully edit and proofread with accuracy.
In this role, the Marketing Writer will work independently on projects prioritized by an Associate Director of Integrated Communications and will collaborate with colleagues throughout the Office of Communications and Marketing on projects that are deemed shared priorities of the academic units and the university. Although the focus of this position will be the academic areas of the university, the marketing writer may provide some support for administrative units.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
Bachelors degree and 2 years experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree and three to four years of professional experience in a client facing communications, marketing or public relations role with an emphasis on digital communication. Experience writing for broad audiences, particularly higher education.

Proficient in AP style with editing, proofreading and grammatical skills
