Job Description
- To plan, review, monitor, and provide direction for the entire manufacturing operations of Optimistic Organic Sdn. Bhd. (OOSB) in line with the business directions. The job purpose includes providing technical, managerial, and administrative support and direction to all functions/ departments related to plant operations including production, engineering maintenance, quality assurance, and SHE.
- The job also requires doing budgeting, planning, and delivering as per the plan, the key business efficiency and effectiveness measures in the areas of SHE (Safety Hygiene, Environment), Customer Satisfaction (both external and Internal), Quality, Cost, Production, Reliability, continuous improvements and Innovation, Employees motivation, conforming to statutory requirements and community satisfaction, to ensure high profitability of the organization.
- Operations; Identification of key strategic objectives, formulation of operational plans, and ensuring timely execution of the same to achieve the highest productivity at the best efficiency and lowest cost.
- Customer Satisfaction & Quality; Ensure meeting and exceeding customers expectations at all times by providing consistently high-quality products
- Reliability and Equipment Availability; Ensure a high level of reliability and equipment availability of both Maleic Anhydride and Esters plant & utility areas at the optimum cost
- Planning & Budgeting; Carrying out operational planning and budgeting exercise in coordination with operations, finance, HR, and Sales & Marketing team with a view to improving OOSBs profitability.
- Design, Engineering & Technology Up gradation; In-house development of equipment designs, operation control schemes under technology development
- Improvements/ Innovations/ Cost Reduction; Facilitate the identification, detailing, implementation & review, and providing necessary resources for all possible cost savings opportunities in operation so as to enhance the business competitiveness
- People Management; Work with the HR department for developing key HR strategies for the Manufacturing team in line with the business needs, set forth policies & guidelines, ensure implementation and ensure good industrial relations
- Regulatory & Statutory Compliance and Community Relations; Ensure all statutory and regulatory compliances with regard to plant operations including all statutory compliances and maintaining harmonious relationships with the surrounding community
- Inter Functional Coordination; Ensure Intra and inter functions coordination, intervene and resolve issues requiring senior-level involvement
- Improvement in Business Excellence Processes; Facilitate continuous improvement in management systems and processes including ISO systems, and business excellence frameworks through practicing world-class management systems
