Key Accountabilities

Lead on the administration and management of the online DAS system  this includes adding new learners, keeping details up to date and monitor and track levy payments
Administer the Apprentice tracker and ensure timely preparation of apprenticeship enrolment documentation to allow for sign off
A firm understanding of apprenticeship standards, delivery pathways and blended learning

Offer 1:1 support and guidance to line managers in understanding the apprenticeship pathway and work alongside managers to identify the right apprenticeship courses for the role

Coordinate and chair Apprentice Network sessions as means of additional support for learners

Establish and maintain positive relationships with training providers. this includes liaising with providers to source courses, identify learning opportunities and actively monitor progress of learners

Support in the procurement of Apprenticeship courses

Provide timely quarterly reporting of Apprenticeship data, this includes providing data for Public Sector duty reporting

Be responsible for answering a range of queries from different stakeholders regarding apprenticeship opportunities

Develop further the existing support that SBC offer learners and keep internal guidance up-to-date.

Contribute, administer and be an active member of the Apprenticeship Project Group

To increase opportunities for care leavers by working directly with service areas to source appropriate opportunities

Target service areas to source opportunities which maximise our apprentice levy

Educate and encourage both staff and managers to think about apprenticeships as a form of CPD

Take responsibility for offering additional support to Apprentices in their CPD

Support apprentices at the end of their apprenticeship and their transition into the step of their career

Provide support to the wider Learning and Development function

Engage in regular ESFA network meetings

Supplementary Accountabilities

Ability to travel across the Borough for meetings
To support the wider learning and development function


Knowledge & Experience

Candidates must have substantial knowledge and experience in the following areas of business and will be required to provide evidence of this:
Understanding of apprenticeships as means of learning and development
Ability to develop positive partnerships within the organisation and with external partners
General coordination and administration skills to support in the management of the apprenticeship programme
Experience in providing support and guidance to stakeholders

Qualifications
Educated to A-level standard or equivalent  Formal L&D, training or coaching qualifications desirable, but not essential

Decision Making
Make decisions when selecting apprenticeship courses and providers
Make decisions on the best way to engage with learners


Creativity and Innovation

Keeping guidance documents relevant and user friendly
Working with the Organisational Learning Manager to contribute to the strategic direction set by the Apprenticeship Project Group
Develop workshops and opportunities for engagement during national events like Apprenticeship Week
