Architectural Designer Internship
Job Location: TBD (San Luis Obispo or Visalia)
Responsibilities
4Creeks is looking for an Architectural Designer Intern! The ideal candidate will perform typical duties that relate to residential, commercial, office, industrial, agricultural, and/or educational projects from the ground up and as adaptive re-uses or retrofits. They will also perform routine aspects of architectural assignments including drafting based on red-lines, preparing high quality construction documents, assembling drawings and project documents for submittal. Superstars meet our high standards of quality and performance, collaborate with team members across disciplines, follow instructions thoroughly, and grasp concepts with a high attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications
- Working towards an Architecture or other construction related degree
- 0 2+ years of experience in a professional architecture environment performing tasks from design through construction, including preparation of construction documents
- Demonstrated use of AutoCAD to effectively produce construction documents
- Understanding of the basic construction systems of walls, roofs, doors, and windows
- Knowledge of building code concepts and applying to project design
- Effective manager of his/her own time, setting goals, prioritizing, and completing tasks on time
- Creative and flexible
- Desire to build a team or grow professionally
- Self-motivated and committed to growing him/herself and the firm
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ideal candidates will stay in the area post-graduation. Bonus points for work availability while going to school.
Compensation
Hourly rate will be determined by candidates skill and experience level and highly competitive with industry standards. We consider our interns as temporary employees, therefore not eligible for our Benefits package. The expected pay range for this position is $20/hr to $24/hr.
