Our client, a leading organization in the financial services sector, is seeking a Director-level Power BI & Python Developer with deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, advanced analytics, and data visualization. This is a full-time, regular employment opportunity based in Newark, NJ, offering the chance to play a strategic role in shaping business intelligence and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

In this role, you will work closely with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams to design and deploy modern reporting tools and data science-driven solutions. The ideal candidate brings a blend of strong technical ability, leadership experience, and deep understanding of analytics within a financial or asset management environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced Power BI dashboards, models, and reporting solutions to support business units with actionable insights.

  • Leverage Python for data manipulation, statistical modeling, and machine learning to enhance reporting accuracy and predictability.

  • Utilize the Microsoft Fabric platform to optimize data workflows, processing, and storage architecture.

  • Partner with stakeholders across departments (e.g., Marketing, IT, Product) to gather requirements and deliver scalable BI solutions.

  • Build reporting assets using tools such as Fabric Notebooks, Analyze in Excel, and reusable templates.

  • Maintain robust BI infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

  • Mentor junior developers and analysts, guiding best practices across data science and BI development.

  • Stay current on emerging analytics and data visualization technologies to improve BI strategy.

  • Conduct complex data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and actionable recommendations.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of reports, models, and analytical processes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data science roles.

  • 7+ years of hands-on Python programming for statistical and predictive analytics.

  • Proven expertise in Power BI development including DAX, data modeling, and performance optimization.

  • Strong SQL skills with experience in data modeling and working with relational databases.

  • Solid understanding of data pipelines, architecture, and cloud-based data solutions (Azure is a plus).

  • Experience working with financial, investment, or portfolio-related data strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques such as regression analysis, A/B testing, and data distributions.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into business-friendly insights.

  • Demonstrated experience leading or delivering complex, fast-paced BI and data science initiatives.
