This Privacy Policy applies to data we collect when you opt to use this website and personal data that we process while supplying services to our clients and candidates.
Personal data is any information that can be used to identify an individual.
We take your privacy very seriously, and ask that you read this Privacy Policy thoroughly as it contains important information on the personal data we collect about you; what we do with your information; and who your information may be shared with.
Who we are
2M Employment Solutions Ltd (trading as 2M Legal) are a ‘data controller’ for the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) where we control the purposes for which we process your personal data and we comply with the Legislation.

What information do we collect?
We may collect personal data about you including your name, address, email address and phone numbers, and may also include work history, education history, a CV, and other information dependent on the role you are applying for or interested in.
If we place you with our clients, we shall also request and hold copies of documentation showing your legal right to work in the UK (or the country in which you have chosen to work). We may record and store any telephone calls you have with us for record-keeping and quality control purposes. We may undertake credit references, and other lawful checks, where a recruitment client or third party requests such information.
If you contact us (by email, telephone or letter), we may keep a record of that correspondence for future reference.
Personal data provided/obtained from third parties
We may obtain information about you from third parties, such as Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, or online job boards when you are looking for and/or you show an interest in a job listing. As a recruitment company we have a legitimate business interest to help you find work and to do this we need to process your personal data.
Security of your personal information
2MES will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information.
We will store all the personal information you provide on our secure (password- and firewall-protected) servers. You, the user, acknowledge that the transmission of information over the Internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the Internet.
You are responsible for keeping the password you use for accessing our website confidential. 2MES will not ask you for your password, other than when you log in to our website.
Use of cookies
We use session cookies for essential website functionality and analytics cookies for statistical analysis purposes. The information collated does not include any personally identifiable information. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us. Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not.
By using this website you consent to our use of cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
How will we use the information about you?
Your personal details, including your name, e-mail address and CV, are held and used by us for the following purposes:
- For taking into consideration any applications made by you to vacancies advertised by 2MES.
- Your data will be shared with employers owning the vacancy you have applied for. Data may be shared with additional 3rdparty-companies for the purposes of providing recruitment services; we’ll contact you before doing so to ensure you consent to this.
- For matching your details with job searches through our Search & Select service.
- We may disclose your personal data to clients and recruiters when you have applied directly to a vacancy that they have advertised via 2MES.
- We may also release information relating to you to regulatory or law enforcement authorities if required to do so.
Emails
We may send an email directly to you with an attached application form or a link to an application form for certain job vacancies. Please inform us if you would like us to stop sending these emails to you.
Keeping your data secure
Our staff are bound by obligations of confidentiality and trained in the protection of personal data.
While we will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard your personal data, you acknowledge that the use of the internet is not entirely secure and for this reason, we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal data that is transferred from you or to you via the internet. If you have any particular concerns about your information, please contact us (see ‘How to contact us?’ below).
Data retention periods
We store your personal data on secure servers for a period of:
- Candidates – twelve months from the date of your last contact with us.
- Clients/Suppliers – If you are one of our clients or suppliers we will hold your details for as long as we have a business requirement to hold such details. We regularly check our databases and will delete your records if we have not used your personal data for 5 years. Please inform us if you would like us to remove any details we hold of you from our records.
- Unless the law requires us to store the data for a longer period.
What rights do you have?
GDPR provides the following rights for individuals whose personal data is processed:
- The right to be informed
You must agree to your information to be processed for purposes you are aware of before it can be processed. You can do this by indicating your consent when providing the information.
- The right of access
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold on you in our role as data controller. If you have an account, you can access this information via your profile. If you do not have an account you can do this by sending us an email at dpo@2mes.co.uk
As well as your personal data, we’ll provide you with:
- the purposes of the processing;
- the categories of personal data concerned;
- the recipients or categories of recipients to whom the personal data have been or will be disclosed;
- the envisaged period for which the personal data will be stored;
- your rights, as laid out in this policy;
- the right to complain with a supervisory authority;
- the source of the data
- any automated decision-making in use on your data, including the logic involved, as well as the significance and the envisaged consequences
- The right to rectification
You have the right to have your data rectified, for example, if it is incorrect or incomplete. You can exercise this right by logging in to your profile. If you do not have an account or wish to amend other data you can do this by sending an email to dpo@2mes.co.uk
- The right to erasure
You may exercise your right to withdraw consent or to request erasure of personal data by logging into your profile and deleting it. If you do not have an account or wish to delete specific data you can do this by sending an email to dpo@2mes.co.uk. Please note that the deletion may not affect an ongoing recruitment process where the employer has already received the data as part of the recruitment process.
- The right to restrict processing
You can request that we keep your data but do not process it further. You can do this by sending an email to dpo@2mes.co.uk.
- The right to data portability
You can request a copy of the information you’ve provided to us in a commonly used format. You can exercise this right by logging in to your profile or by sending an email to dpo@2mes.co.uk.
- The right to object to processing
You have the right to object to the use of your data for direct marketing purposes and profiling, should such profiling take place in the scope of direct marketing or our legitimate interest.
- Rights about automated decision-making and profiling (We do not currently carry out automated decision-making and profiling)
You have the right not to be subject to entirely automatic profiling algorithms. If such algorithms are used, you have the right to know details of their operation. You can request information about any automated profiling algorithms by emailing dpo@2mes.co.uk.
Right to lodge a complaint with the supervising authority
If you have any concerns or complaints about how we use your personal data we hope you will alert us to these directly (see the Contact information below).
If you are still unhappy you are entitled to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) which is the relevant supervising authority in the UK. Their contact details and the procedure can be found at www.ico.org.uk
