About the job Remote | Military/Veteran Mental Health Experts — $100–$200/hour
We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced psychiatrists and clinical psychologists with substantial direct-care experience serving military personnel and veteran populations to contribute to an advanced AI training and mental-health evaluation project.
Selected professionals will review clinical materials, simulated patient interactions, and mental-health scenarios involving service members and veterans, helping ensure that AI-generated content reflects appropriate clinical reasoning, culturally informed communication, and evidence-based mental-health practice. No prior experience in AI is required; relevant clinical expertise is the primary qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Review & Mental Health Evaluation
- Review mental-health materials, case studies, and simulated patient interactions involving military and veteran populations
- Evaluate clinical accuracy, diagnostic reasoning, and appropriateness of therapeutic approaches
- Identify oversimplified, misleading, or clinically inappropriate content
- Apply evidence-based judgement across complex behavioural-health scenarios
- Ensure outputs reflect realistic clinical standards and patient-care considerations
Military & Veteran Mental Health Expertise
- Apply specialised knowledge of mental-health conditions commonly affecting service members and veterans
- Evaluate scenarios involving trauma, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, adjustment disorders, and related conditions
- Consider deployment history, military culture, transition experiences, and veteran-specific stressors
- Identify cultural or contextual factors that materially affect assessment and treatment
- Ensure communication reflects sensitivity to the lived experiences of military and veteran populations
Clinical Content Development
- Create, edit, and curate prompts, responses, and simulated clinical scenarios
- Develop content reflecting realistic challenges encountered in military and veteran mental-health care
- Translate complex clinical concepts into clear and accessible written material
- Support creation of high-quality clinical reference content
- Maintain strong standards of accuracy, nuance, and professional judgement
Therapeutic & Diagnostic Reasoning
- Evaluate diagnostic processes and differential considerations
- Assess whether therapeutic recommendations are clinically appropriate and context-sensitive
- Review communication strategies used in simulated mental-health interactions
- Identify gaps in assessment, risk evaluation, or treatment reasoning
- Apply professional judgement to ambiguous or multifactorial clinical situations
Expert Feedback & Project Collaboration
- Provide structured feedback and nuanced clinical analysis
- Document findings, recommendations, and potential areas for improvement clearly
- Participate in virtual discussions or consultative sessions when needed
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to align on clinical quality standards
- Help refine content and evaluation frameworks as project requirements evolve
Ideal Profile
- Board-certified or otherwise appropriately qualified psychiatrist with completed medical residency, or clinical psychologist with a completed PhD
- Substantial direct patient-care experience with military personnel and/or veteran populations
- Deep familiarity with trauma, PTSD, TBI, adjustment disorders, and related behavioural-health conditions
- Strong therapeutic-intervention and clinical-assessment skills
- Experience developing or reviewing clinical content, training materials, or assessment tools is highly valuable
- Strong cultural competence when working with military and veteran communities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain complex clinical concepts clearly to varied audiences
- Strong attention to clinical accuracy, sensitivity, and detail
- Interest in applying clinical expertise to technology-driven mental-health initiatives
- No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required
- Applicants with proficiency in Japanese, French, Tagalog, Malay, Lithuanian, Russian, Georgian, Polish, Marathi, Bengali, Urdu, Vietnamese, Swahili, Mandarin, Cantonese, Indonesian, Turkish, Gujarati, or Bulgarian are being prioritised
