About the job Remote | Chemistry Specialist — $70–$90/hour

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Chemistry professionals with strong expertise in wet-lab methods, chemical reactions, experimental design, analytical chemistry, scientific documentation, and laboratory problem solving to contribute to an advanced AI training and scientific-evaluation project.

Selected professionals will design and analyse chemistry experiments, interpret results, review methodologies, and provide rigorous scientific feedback supporting next-generation AI systems. The work requires strong hands-on laboratory experience, critical thinking, and clear technical communication. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Experimental Chemistry & Wet-Lab Analysis

  • Design and evaluate qualitative and quantitative chemistry experiments
  • Analyse chemical reactions, mechanisms, reaction conditions, and expected outcomes
  • Review experimental setup, controls, measurements, instrumentation, and reproducibility
  • Identify potential sources of error, contamination, or unexpected behaviour
  • Recommend improvements to experimental and laboratory workflows

Analytical Chemistry & Scientific Evaluation

  • Review analytical methods, separation techniques, and laboratory datasets
  • Assess whether methods are appropriate for the scientific question
  • Interpret instrumentation results and identify limitations or uncertainty
  • Apply sound scientific judgement to research, quality-control, product-development, and process-optimisation scenarios
  • Evaluate quality and safety considerations where relevant

AI Evaluation & Documentation

  • Review AI-generated chemistry content for scientific accuracy
  • Identify incorrect assumptions, reaction errors, or weak reasoning
  • Document methods, findings, assumptions, and limitations clearly
  • Provide structured feedback supporting model improvement
  • Explain complex chemistry concepts to technical and non-specialist audiences

Ideal Profile

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline; PhD preferred
  • Extensive hands-on wet-lab experience
  • Strong experimental-design and chemical-reaction expertise
  • Strong background in analytical chemistry
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation and separation techniques
  • Strong understanding of reproducibility, quality control, and laboratory best practices
  • Experience in research, product development, process optimisation, or quality-control environments is valuable
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety, regulatory, or quality guidelines is advantageous
  • Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience working across interdisciplinary projects is beneficial
  • No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

  • Independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Compensation: $70–$90/hour
  • Work will involve chemistry analysis, wet-lab methodology, experimental design, chemical reactions, analytical chemistry, scientific documentation, and AI-generated content evaluation
  • Assignments may involve reaction analysis, experimental protocols, analytical data, laboratory scenarios, quality-control questions, and scientific explanations
