About the job Remote | CAD Expert — $80–$130/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced CAD professionals with strong expertise in computer-aided design, manufacturing workflows, CAM, CNC, and digital fabrication to contribute to an advanced AI training and technical evaluation project.

Selected professionals will review AI-generated manufacturing content, assess workflow recommendations, and apply practical CAD expertise to evaluate process accuracy, efficiency, and technical quality. The work is particularly suited to candidates with hands-on experience in platforms such as Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Onshape, Inventor, CATIA, Creo, or comparable CAD environments. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

CAD & Manufacturing Workflow Evaluation

  • Apply hands-on CAD experience to manufacturing and engineering workflow scenarios
  • Review manufacturing processes, modelling approaches, and technical recommendations
  • Assess whether proposed workflows are practical, efficient, and technically sound
  • Identify unrealistic assumptions, process gaps, or weak manufacturing logic
  • Provide expert feedback grounded in real-world CAD and production experience

AI-Generated Content Review

  • Review and assess AI-generated content related to CAD and manufacturing workflows
  • Evaluate recommendations for technical accuracy, usability, and real-world applicability
  • Identify incorrect, incomplete, or inefficient process guidance
  • Refine technical content where necessary to improve quality and clarity
  • Apply professional judgement when evaluating ambiguous or context-dependent outputs

CAM, CNC & Digital Manufacturing

  • Contribute expertise involving CAM, CNC machining, and digital manufacturing workflows where applicable
  • Evaluate manufacturing-process decisions from design through production
  • Assess practical considerations involving machining, fabrication, and manufacturability
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies or technical constraints that may affect production outcomes
  • Provide clear reasoning behind manufacturing-process recommendations

Rubric Development & Quality Standards

  • Develop and validate detailed rubrics for evaluating manufacturing-process quality
  • Define criteria related to technical accuracy, efficiency, and workflow suitability
  • Apply evaluation standards consistently across technical assignments
  • Document reasoning and assessment criteria clearly
  • Contribute to the refinement of project quality standards and technical benchmarks

Ideal Profile

  • Hands-on experience with at least one professional CAD platform
  • Relevant tools may include Fusion 360, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Onshape, Inventor, CATIA, Creo, FreeCAD, or comparable systems
  • Strong practical understanding of CAD modelling and manufacturing workflows
  • Experience with Autodesk tools, particularly Fusion 360 or AutoCAD, is advantageous
  • Background in CAM, CNC machining, or digital manufacturing is strongly valued
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on clarity and technical detail
  • Python proficiency is a significant advantage
  • Familiarity with AI tools, generative design, or AI-assisted engineering workflows is beneficial
  • Experience developing or applying technical evaluation rubrics is advantageous
  • Ability to assess manufacturing-process accuracy, efficiency, and practical feasibility
  • No prior experience in AI training is required

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote and open to candidates worldwide
  • Compensation: $80–$130/hour
  • Expected commitment: approximately 15–20 hours per week
  • Schedule is fully flexible and can accommodate evenings or weekends where needed
  • Compensation is output-based, with payment made for tasks that meet project specifications
  • Minimum weekly submission requirements apply
