Remote | Spanish Language Tutor — $50–$60/hour

We are sharing a specialised short-term consulting opportunity for experienced Spanish tutors to conduct recorded, one-on-one language-learning sessions with native English-speaking learners across different proficiency levels.

This role focuses on delivering authentic Spanish lessons that encourage natural conversation and meaningful learner participation. Selected tutors will adapt sessions to individual proficiency levels and assigned topics while following provided lesson structures and maintaining a focused, engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

One-on-One Spanish Tutoring

• Lead engaging individual Spanish tutoring sessions with native English-speaking learners
• Deliver genuine language-learning interactions across different proficiency levels
• Encourage active learner participation throughout each session
• Ask appropriate questions and maintain substantive back-and-forth conversation
• Create a supportive and natural learning environment

Lesson Adaptation

• Adapt teaching approach to each learner's Spanish proficiency level
• Adjust explanations, vocabulary, pacing, and conversational complexity as appropriate
• Work with assigned lesson topics and structures
• Respond naturally to learner questions and areas of difficulty
• Maintain an appropriate balance between instruction and conversation practice

Conversational Spanish

• Encourage learners to communicate naturally in Spanish
• Facilitate speaking and listening practice through meaningful conversation
• Help learners remain engaged with assigned topics
• Maintain conversational momentum and minimise extended periods of silence
• Keep interactions relevant to the lesson rather than drifting into unrelated discussion

Lesson Structure & Delivery

• Follow provided lesson structures and project instructions consistently
• Conduct sessions according to assigned formats and objectives
• Maintain clear pacing throughout each lesson
• Ensure sessions meet the required minimum duration
• Provide consistent, professional instruction across scheduled sessions

Recorded Session Participation

• Conduct online tutoring sessions that will be recorded for project purposes
• Remain comfortable teaching in a recorded environment
• Maintain professional and natural interaction throughout each recording
• Support the production of high-quality, authentic language-learning conversations
• Attend scheduled sessions reliably and punctually

Ideal Profile

• Fluent Spanish speaker with strong verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• At least 3 years of Spanish teaching or tutoring experience
• Experience teaching native English-speaking learners
• Experience working with learners across different Spanish proficiency levels
• Ability to adapt lesson structure and communication style to individual learners
• Strong conversational and instructional skills
• Reliable availability and a strong record of punctuality
• Comfortable participating in recorded online sessions
• Tutors from Spain, Mexico, and other Spanish-speaking backgrounds are welcome

Engagement Details

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Short-term project lasting approximately 3 weeks
• Approximately 7 hours per week
• Scheduled one-on-one tutoring sessions
• Sessions generally last 20–30 minutes, with a minimum duration of 20 minutes
• Compensation: $50–$60/hour
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
• H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
