About the job Remote | Privacy & Regulatory Compliance Specialist — $70–$110/hour
We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced privacy and regulatory compliance professionals with strong expertise in data protection, regulatory frameworks, governance, risk assessment, and compliance review.
This role focuses on reviewing professional documents, spreadsheets, and presentation materials related to privacy and regulatory compliance. Selected experts will assess outputs for legal and regulatory accuracy, completeness, risk identification, presentation quality, and overall professional credibility.
Key Responsibilities
Privacy Compliance Review
- Evaluate work products involving privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance
- Assess whether conclusions appropriately reflect applicable privacy requirements and professional standards
- Identify unsupported assumptions, missing obligations, and incomplete compliance analysis
- Review privacy-related recommendations for accuracy, practicality, and risk awareness
- Apply professional judgement to complex privacy and data-governance scenarios
Regulatory Analysis
- Review materials involving regulatory requirements, policies, and compliance obligations
- Assess whether applicable rules are interpreted and applied correctly
- Identify inconsistencies between stated requirements and proposed actions
- Evaluate the completeness of regulatory assessments and recommendations
- Distinguish material compliance issues from minor drafting or presentation concerns
Privacy Risk & Governance
- Evaluate privacy-risk assessments, governance processes, and internal controls
- Review data-handling practices, accountability structures, and compliance workflows
- Assess whether identified risks have appropriate mitigation measures
- Identify gaps in documentation, ownership, escalation, or monitoring
- Evaluate whether proposed governance approaches are proportionate and operationally realistic
Data Protection & Operational Compliance
- Review workflows involving personal-data collection, use, retention, sharing, and deletion
- Assess whether operational practices align with stated privacy requirements
- Evaluate consent, transparency, access, and data-subject rights processes where relevant
- Identify weaknesses in data inventories, records, controls, or compliance procedures
- Review cross-functional implications across legal, product, security, and business teams
Documents & Presentation Review
- Evaluate policies, assessments, reports, spreadsheets, and slide decks for accuracy and completeness
- Review executive and stakeholder presentations for clarity and regulatory credibility
- Identify factual, analytical, aesthetic, and formatting issues
- Assess whether charts, tables, and supporting materials accurately represent underlying compliance analysis
- Ensure recommendations are clearly connected to the relevant evidence and requirements
Structured Evaluation & Feedback
- Assess assigned outputs against domain-specific quality criteria
- Identify regulatory, analytical, factual, and presentation errors
- Distinguish substantive compliance deficiencies from minor editorial concerns
- Provide clear, structured written feedback explaining identified strengths and weaknesses
- Apply evaluation standards consistently across documents, spreadsheets, and presentation materials
Ideal Profile
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in privacy, regulatory compliance, data protection, privacy law, privacy operations, or a closely related field
- Strong practical understanding of privacy and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Experience reviewing policies, controls, risk assessments, or regulatory work products
- Ability to identify material compliance gaps, unsupported conclusions, and weak governance practices
- Experience working across legal, privacy, security, product, or compliance functions is highly valued
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint / Google Slides
- Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
- Native or professional fluency in English
- Excellent written communication and ability to provide precise, structured feedback
- Strong attention to regulatory, analytical, and presentation detail
- Master's degree or higher from a recognised institution is advantageous
Engagement Details
- Part-time independent contractor engagement

- Compensation: $70–$110/hour
- Work includes evaluation of privacy and regulatory compliance documents, spreadsheets, and presentation materials
- Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
- Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
