Remote | Norwegian Music & Audio AI Evaluator — $30–$55/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for Norwegian-speaking music producers, audio engineers, and mixing professionals to evaluate AI-generated music using professional listening and production standards.

This role supports advanced generative music AI evaluation across a wide range of genres and production styles. Selected experts will compare AI-generated tracks, assess musical and technical quality, classify musical characteristics, and evaluate lyrics and vocals while working in both Norwegian and English.

Key Responsibilities

Music Quality Evaluation

• Compare AI-generated songs head-to-head using defined evaluation criteria
• Assess musicality, creativity, arrangement, and overall listening quality
• Evaluate how accurately each track follows the original prompt or creative direction
• Identify musical inconsistencies, structural weaknesses, and production-quality issues
• Apply professional music-production judgement when ranking alternative outputs

Audio Production & Mix Review

• Evaluate recording, production, mixing, and overall sonic quality
• Assess balance, clarity, dynamics, spatial presentation, and tonal consistency
• Identify artifacts, processing issues, or unnatural production characteristics
• Review vocal integration and instrumental balance within completed tracks
• Determine whether outputs meet professional production and listening standards

Genre & Musical Classification

• Label tracks by genre, sub-genre, structure, instrumentation, and vocal characteristics
• Identify key musical elements and production techniques
• Recognise stylistic conventions across contemporary Norwegian and international music
• Distinguish between closely related genres and production approaches
• Apply consistent classification standards across varied musical content

Lyrics & Vocal Evaluation

• Review AI-generated lyrics for quality, coherence, and accuracy
• Compare vocals and lyrics against provided reference material where applicable
• Evaluate pronunciation, phrasing, delivery, and naturalness in Norwegian
• Identify linguistic or musical mismatches affecting vocal quality
• Assess whether vocal performances fit the intended genre and musical context

AI Evaluation & Quality Assurance

• Apply detailed evaluation guidelines consistently across large sets of music outputs
• Provide clear ratings and structured feedback
• Identify recurring weaknesses in AI-generated music
• Maintain consistent quality standards across evaluation tasks
• Contribute professional music and audio expertise to the improvement of generative AI systems

Ideal Profile

• Native or near-native proficiency in Norwegian
• Strong ability to understand detailed written instructions in English
• 2+ years of professional experience as a Music Producer, Audio Engineer, Mixing Engineer, Recording Engineer, or closely related audio professional
• Strong critical-listening skills across music, vocals, and production quality
• Access to professional-quality headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening
• Broad familiarity with contemporary music genres and production styles
• Knowledge of Norwegian music, artists, genres, and sub-genres is highly valued
• Formal training in music performance, theory, composition, production, or audio engineering is advantageous
• Commercially released or credited production, engineering, or mixing work is highly valued
• Ability to work independently and apply detailed evaluation criteria consistently

Engagement Details

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Flexible scheduling
• Most contributors work approximately 20 hours per week, with additional hours available depending on project needs
• Expected project duration of up to 6 months
• Immediate start
• Compensation: $30–$55/hour
• Applicants may be asked to complete a Norwegian bilingual competency assessment during onboarding
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
