Remote | Investment Banking Expert — $80–$90/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for senior investment banking professionals with deep expertise in M&A advisory, capital markets, leveraged finance, valuation, financial modelling, and complex transaction execution.

This role supports advanced AI evaluation work focused on realistic investment banking and large-cap transaction workflows. Selected experts will design complex deal scenarios, develop reference outputs, and create evaluation rubrics that reflect how experienced bankers approach valuation, transaction structuring, capital raising, due diligence, and board-level advisory work.

Key Responsibilities

M&A Advisory & Deal Execution

• Develop realistic scenarios involving large-scale mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic transactions
• Create tasks covering deal structuring, negotiation, due diligence, transaction execution, and stakeholder management
• Apply senior-level judgement to complex multi-party transaction scenarios
• Evaluate deal recommendations for financial, strategic, and execution quality
• Produce reference deal analyses and executive-level transaction narratives

Valuation & Financial Modelling

• Develop tasks involving DCF analysis, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis
• Build and evaluate financial models supporting strategic and transaction decisions
• Apply LBO modelling and other advanced valuation methodologies where relevant
• Assess assumptions, sensitivities, valuation ranges, and key financial drivers
• Identify modelling weaknesses, unsupported assumptions, and analytical inconsistencies

Equity & Debt Capital Markets

• Create scenarios involving equity issuance, debt financing, capital raising, and financing strategy
• Evaluate transaction structures across different market and company conditions
• Develop reference analyses involving pricing, capital structure, investor considerations, and execution strategy
• Assess financing alternatives and associated trade-offs
• Apply practical capital-markets judgement to complex transaction scenarios

Leveraged Finance & Capital Structure

• Develop tasks involving leveraged transactions, debt capacity, financing structures, and credit considerations
• Evaluate capital structures for sustainability, risk, and strategic fit
• Apply financial analysis to debt-funded acquisitions and other leveraged transactions
• Assess leverage, coverage, returns, and financing assumptions
• Produce reference analyses reflecting senior investment banking judgement

Pitch Books & Strategic Advisory

• Develop realistic pitch and advisory scenarios for senior executives and boards
• Produce reference pitch books, valuation materials, transaction summaries, and strategic recommendations
• Evaluate presentation materials for analytical quality, clarity, and decision usefulness
• Assess whether recommendations appropriately reflect company objectives, market conditions, and transaction risks
• Translate complex financial analysis into concise executive-level narratives

Deal Tools & Market Data

• Develop scenarios involving Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, and comparable financial-data platforms
• Apply familiarity with enterprise modelling, transaction-management, and deal-execution workflows
• Structure complex financial and transaction information into clear professional outputs
• Evaluate market data, precedent transactions, trading comparables, and transaction assumptions
• Assess whether conclusions are appropriately supported by available financial information

AI Evaluation & Rubric Development

• Design expert-level evaluation tasks across investment banking workflows
• Draft reference outputs demonstrating authentic senior-level banking judgement
• Develop rubrics that distinguish professional deal reasoning from generic textbook or interview-preparation responses
• Review AI-generated outputs for financial accuracy, strategic insight, and transaction realism
• Identify subtle modelling errors, weak assumptions, and incomplete recommendations
• Provide clear written rationale supporting evaluation decisions

Ideal Profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, capital markets, leveraged finance, or a closely related field
• Senior-level experience within a bulge-bracket bank, elite boutique, major financial institution, or comparable advisory environment
• Direct ownership of large-scale deal execution, capital raises, strategic advisory mandates, or complex financial transactions
• Strong expertise in DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, LBO modelling, and related valuation methodologies
• Deep understanding of transaction mechanics, due diligence, financing processes, and board-level advisory work
• Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, and other professional investment banking tools
• Experience with regulatory review, securities considerations, antitrust processes, and transaction approvals is highly valued
• Strong written communication and ability to explain complex financial reasoning clearly and precisely
• Experience developing financial-model training materials, transaction documentation, pitch books, or evaluation rubrics is advantageous

• Part-time independent contractor engagement

• Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
• Compensation: $80–$90/hour
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
