We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced professionals with backgrounds in government, public sector organisations, legal affairs, government-facing business development, or commercial strategy.

This role focuses on reviewing and evaluating public-sector, legal, and go-to-market work products for quality, accuracy, relevance, and professional soundness. Selected professionals will apply practical domain expertise to assess strategies, analyses, documents, presentations, and related materials while providing clear, structured feedback.

Key Responsibilities

Government & Public Sector Review

  • Review government and public-sector documents, strategies, and professional materials
  • Assess whether recommendations reflect realistic public-sector environments
  • Evaluate organisational, stakeholder, policy, and implementation considerations
  • Identify inconsistencies, unsupported assumptions, or impractical recommendations
  • Apply professional judgement grounded in government or public-sector experience

Government Affairs & Stakeholder Strategy

  • Evaluate materials involving government stakeholders, institutional relationships, and public-sector engagement
  • Review communication and engagement approaches for clarity and practical relevance
  • Assess stakeholder priorities, dependencies, and execution considerations
  • Identify gaps in planning or stakeholder coordination
  • Evaluate recommendations for professional and strategic soundness

Legal & Regulatory Review

  • Review legal and regulatory materials for accuracy, structure, and relevance
  • Assess whether legal considerations are appropriately incorporated into broader business or public-sector recommendations
  • Identify incomplete reasoning, inconsistencies, or unsupported conclusions
  • Evaluate documents involving legal, compliance, contractual, or regulatory considerations
  • Apply practical legal or regulatory judgement where relevant to the assignment

Public Sector Business Development

  • Review government-facing business development and commercial strategies
  • Assess approaches to public-sector opportunities, partnerships, and account development
  • Evaluate whether recommendations appropriately reflect institutional buyers and procurement environments
  • Identify gaps in commercial planning or execution
  • Review business-development materials for strategic coherence and practicality

Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Evaluate go-to-market plans for public-sector or regulated environments
  • Review target audiences, positioning, engagement approaches, and execution priorities
  • Assess alignment between commercial objectives and government or legal considerations
  • Identify weak assumptions or inconsistencies in GTM planning
  • Evaluate proposed strategies for feasibility and relevance

Document & Spreadsheet Review

  • Review professional documents and spreadsheets for accuracy and consistency
  • Assess calculations, tables, supporting data, and written analyses
  • Identify missing information, analytical issues, or discrepancies
  • Evaluate whether underlying information supports stated conclusions
  • Maintain strong attention to detail across varied work products

Presentation Review

  • Review PowerPoint presentations for clarity, structure, and professional quality
  • Assess strategic narratives, supporting analysis, and information hierarchy
  • Identify inconsistencies between source information and presented conclusions
  • Evaluate whether complex public-sector, legal, or commercial topics are communicated effectively
  • Review presentation materials against defined project guidelines

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

  • Assess assigned work products against defined quality standards
  • Identify substantive strategic, legal, analytical, operational, and presentation issues
  • Distinguish material concerns from minor editorial issues
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable written feedback
  • Apply evaluation criteria consistently across assignments

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • At least 2+ years of relevant professional experience in government, public sector, legal affairs, government affairs, business development, commercial strategy, or a closely related field
  • Experience as a Government Affairs Specialist, Public Sector Consultant, Legal Counsel, Business Development Manager, Account Executive, or similar professional
  • Strong understanding of public-sector organisations, legal or regulatory considerations, and/or government-facing commercial strategy
  • Strong analytical and document-review skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow structured guidelines
  • Strong proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Comfortable reviewing varied public-sector, legal, and commercial work products
  • Able to work independently and provide precise professional feedback

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Applicants must be based in the United States, Europe, United Kingdom, or Canada
  • Compensation: $70–$150/hour
  • Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
  • Work focuses on government affairs, public-sector strategy, legal and regulatory review, commercial strategy, and structured evaluation
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
