Remote | Strategic Project Lead, J.D./Legal Expertise — $400,000–$550,000/year

We are sharing a full-time opportunity for an experienced legal professional with strong project leadership, legal-domain expertise, stakeholder management, data operations, and human-data workflow experience to lead complex initiatives supporting advanced AI organisations and legal-focused data projects.

The role combines legal expertise with end-to-end project execution. The successful candidate will translate ambiguous customer requirements into clear project specifications, design and improve legal-domain workflows, coordinate Operations and Legal subject-matter experts, manage delivery milestones, and maintain direct communication with senior stakeholders. A JD or equivalent law degree is required.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Legal Workflow Leadership

• Own complex projects from scoping through execution and final delivery
• Translate strategic objectives and customer requirements into structured project plans
• Define workstreams, milestones, dependencies, quality standards, and deliverables
• Design workflows for legal research, contract analysis, litigation, regulatory, and compliance-related tasks
• Resolve blockers quickly and maintain delivery momentum

Data Operations & Quality

• Design and refine legal-domain data pipelines and human-data workflows
• Coordinate expert-driven annotation, review, and evaluation processes
• Improve workflow efficiency, scalability, and operational reliability
• Establish quality-control and review procedures
• Identify bottlenecks and implement practical process improvements

Stakeholder & Team Management

• Work closely with attorneys, senior Legal experts, Operations teams, and project leads
• Own client communication across scope, quality, timing, progress, and risk
• Align contributors around clear responsibilities and execution expectations
• Provide concise updates, feedback, and next steps
• Support rapid deployment of expert teams for new project needs

AI & Human-Data Project Delivery

• Support projects involving AI training, evaluation, and human-generated legal data
• Translate customer objectives into scalable operational systems
• Apply legal-domain judgement to project specifications and evaluation criteria
• Maintain strong execution across legal, operational, and technical workstreams
• Improve workflows supporting complex AI and data initiatives

Ideal Profile

• JD or equivalent law degree required
• 2+ years of experience in legal practice, legal research, regulatory/compliance, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience leading complex projects, operational workflows, or legal-related initiatives
• Strong legal-domain knowledge and project-management skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from ambiguity through delivery
• Strong stakeholder-management and cross-functional coordination skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to work effectively with attorneys and senior Legal professionals
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, urgency, and operational discipline
• Experience with legal research, contract analysis, litigation, or regulatory/compliance work is valuable
• Experience with legal, technical, or data-intensive projects is advantageous
• Familiarity with AI/ML organisations, data annotation, evaluation workflows, or human-in-the-loop systems is beneficial

Engagement Details

• Full-time engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $400,000–$550,000/year
• Work will involve strategic project leadership, legal workflows, stakeholder management, data operations, human-data pipelines, project delivery, and cross-functional coordination
• A JD or equivalent law degree is required
• Responsibilities may span legal research, contract analysis, litigation workflows, regulatory/compliance work, AI-training operations, and expert evaluation
• Regular communication with customers, Legal domain experts, Operations teams, and project leads is expected
• Project scope, priorities, customer requirements, and workflows may evolve based on business needs
• Work must be completed without using confidential, privileged, proprietary, client-identifiable, sealed, regulated, or otherwise restricted information belonging to any client, law firm, court matter, employer, government entity, financial institution, or other third party
