About the job Remote | Purchasing Agent — $30–$65/hour
We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Purchasing Agents with strong expertise in procurement, bid analysis, supplier evaluation, sourcing strategy, contract reasoning, and vendor comparison to contribute to an advanced AI training and procurement-evaluation project.
Selected professionals will design realistic procurement tasks, analyse vendor documentation, develop sourcing recommendations, and create structured grading frameworks for AI evaluation. The role is particularly suited to procurement professionals with experience across corporate or public-sector environments, especially IT, industrial, or professional-services categories. No prior experience in AI is required.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing Analysis
- Design realistic procurement scenarios involving RFPs, supplier selection, bid evaluation, and negotiation
- Analyse supplier bids across pricing, scope, technical requirements, and commercial terms
- Develop bid-comparison matrices and normalise non-standardised vendor submissions
- Evaluate suppliers using commercial, technical, operational, and contractual criteria
- Produce clear, defensible sourcing recommendations
Supplier Documentation & Contract Reasoning
- Create realistic quotations, pricing tables, specifications, and procurement documentation
- Analyse procurement-related contract terms and risk allocation
- Identify clauses requiring clarification or negotiation
- Assess how commercial terms affect supplier selection
- Develop realistic negotiation scenarios involving pricing, service levels, terms, and risk
AI Evaluation & Quality Assurance
- Develop detailed grading rubrics for vendor comparison, bid analysis, and contract reasoning
- Define measurable standards for strong, partial, and inadequate responses
- Create scenarios across IT, industrial, and professional-services procurement
- Review tasks and supporting materials for realism, completeness, and ambiguity
- Refine procurement tasks based on project feedback and evaluation requirements
Ideal Profile
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in corporate or public-sector procurement
- Direct experience with supplier analysis, sourcing, and bid evaluation
- Strong experience building and evaluating bid matrices
- Demonstrated contract-negotiation experience
- Ability to analyse non-standardised vendor submissions
- Deep category knowledge in IT, industrial, or professional-services procurement is highly valuable
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices and relevant regulatory frameworks
- Strong commercial and analytical judgement
- Exceptional written English and ability to explain sourcing and contractual rationale clearly
- Experience developing complex procurement scenarios, benchmarks, or evaluation frameworks is advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail
- No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required
