Remote | Industrial Design CAD Expert — $40–$80/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced Industrial Design CAD professionals with strong expertise in mechanical engineering, aerospace, industrial design, and multi-part CAD assembly interpretation to contribute to an advanced AI training project focused on engineering design analysis.

Selected professionals will review complex CAD assemblies, interpret design intent and component relationships, and develop precise technical question-and-answer content grounded in real engineering data. The work requires strong CAD knowledge, careful technical reasoning, and the ability to produce objective, unambiguous, assessment-ready material. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

CAD Assembly Interpretation & Design Analysis

• Review complex multi-part CAD assemblies provided in native FreeCAD format
• Analyse overall design intent, assembly structure, component relationships, and functional behaviour
• Identify important mechanical features, interfaces, and technical nuances within each assembly
• Apply industrial design, mechanical engineering, or aerospace knowledge when interpreting technical details
• Evaluate assemblies with strong attention to accuracy, consistency, and engineering logic

Technical Question Development

• Author clear, objective, and non-guessable technical questions based on assembly data
• Develop several unique questions for each assigned assembly
• Ensure question sets cover assembly structure, function, component relationships, and design considerations
• Create prompts that require exact, technically grounded answers
• Avoid ambiguity and ensure every question can be verified against the source assembly

Answer Authoring & Technical Validation

• Produce precise and technically accurate answers supported by the underlying CAD data
• Verify answers against geometry, assembly relationships, and available technical documentation
• Review question-and-answer sets for clarity, consistency, and correctness
• Identify unclear or insufficiently supported conclusions before final submission
• Maintain strong standards for objective, assessment-ready technical content

Documentation & Project Collaboration

• Produce clear technical documentation and structured engineering content
• Communicate technical concepts effectively through written and verbal channels
• Collaborate with project coordinators to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities
• Provide feedback and suggestions that improve project processes and content quality
• Manage assigned deliverables independently while maintaining agreed quality standards and timelines

Ideal Profile

• Demonstrated background in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, industrial design, or a closely related discipline
• Strong foundational knowledge of CAD systems and engineering design principles
• Expertise in interpreting multi-part assembly drawings, CAD files, and technical documentation
• Proven ability to author technical documentation, assessment material, or other structured engineering content
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to technical precision
• Familiarity with FreeCAD or comparable CAD environments
• Direct FreeCAD experience is advantageous but not required
• Ability to work independently and manage deliverables effectively in a remote environment
• Strong interest in technical education, structured assessment, or expert-driven AI initiatives
• No prior experience in AI research or model training is required

• Part-time independent contractor engagement

• Compensation: $40–$80/hour
• Work will involve CAD assembly interpretation, technical question authoring, answer development, engineering analysis, and documentation
