About the job Remote | Biologist — $70–$90/hour

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Biologists with strong expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, CRISPR, wet-lab methods, cloning, genotyping, PCR-based assays, sequence design, and experimental workflow development to contribute to an advanced AI training and biological-science evaluation project.

Selected professionals will design and review molecular-biology workflows, evaluate gene-editing experiments, analyse biological data and cellular processes, and translate complex experimental information into structured formats for AI training. Strong hands-on laboratory experience and scientific rigour are central to the role. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

Gene Editing & Molecular Workflow Design

  • Design and evaluate CRISPR-based gene-editing experiments
  • Review guide design, targeting logic, validation strategies, and experimental feasibility
  • Develop cloning strategies, engineered constructs, and cell-line workflows
  • Evaluate vector design, sequence architecture, and downstream validation
  • Identify technical weaknesses or likely failure points in experimental plans

Genotyping, PCR & Screening

  • Design or review genotyping and PCR-based validation strategies
  • Assess assay design, controls, sequence confirmation, and interpretation
  • Develop synthetic DNA/RNA sequences and molecular screening approaches
  • Evaluate high-throughput screening workflows for accuracy and robustness
  • Identify unsupported conclusions or inconsistencies in validation data

Cell Biology & Experimental Analysis

  • Apply molecular and cellular biology principles to complex experimental questions
  • Analyse cellular organisation, organelle function, and molecular-to-cellular effects
  • Design and optimise wet-lab workflows with appropriate controls
  • Evaluate reproducibility, variability, and troubleshooting approaches
  • Review experimental results for scientific accuracy and biological plausibility

AI Evaluation & Documentation

  • Review AI-generated biological content for scientific accuracy
  • Identify errors, oversimplifications, or unsupported interpretations
  • Translate experimental data into structured training and evaluation formats
  • Document methods, results, and reasoning clearly
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary and remote teams

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related discipline
  • Strong expertise in CRISPR and gene-editing workflows
  • Extensive hands-on wet-lab experience
  • Demonstrated experience with cloning, construct development, genotyping, and PCR-based assays
  • Familiarity with sequence design and molecular screening
  • Strong understanding of molecular and cellular biology
  • Experience optimising experimental workflows and interpreting biological data
  • Strong attention to scientific detail, reproducibility, and data accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience with AI evaluation, data annotation, rubric development, or interdisciplinary research is advantageous
  • No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Engagement Details

  • Independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Compensation: $70–$90/hour
  • Work will involve CRISPR, gene editing, cloning, genotyping, PCR assays, sequence design, molecular screening, cell biology, wet-lab experimental design, and AI-generated scientific-content evaluation
  • Assignments may involve experimental protocols, gene-editing scenarios, molecular and cellular datasets, screening workflows, and structured biological evaluation tasks
  • Project scope, workload, biological topics, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements
  • Work must be completed without using confidential, proprietary, or identifiable biological information belonging to any employer, client, laboratory, research institution, collaborator, or other third party
