We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced project management professionals with strong expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, procurement, and stakeholder coordination.

This role focuses on reviewing professional project-management content and workflows across technical and cross-functional environments. Selected professionals will assess project plans, status reports, stakeholder communications, and operational decisions for accuracy, feasibility, planning quality, and overall professional credibility.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Evaluate project plans for completeness, sequencing, dependencies, and execution feasibility
  • Review milestones, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements
  • Identify unrealistic assumptions, missing dependencies, and execution risks
  • Assess whether proposed plans appropriately reflect project objectives and constraints
  • Apply practical project-management judgement to realistic delivery scenarios

Schedule & Timeline Management

  • Review project schedules and delivery timelines
  • Assess task sequencing, critical dependencies, and milestone planning
  • Identify scheduling conflicts, unrealistic estimates, and potential bottlenecks
  • Evaluate proposed responses to delays or changing priorities
  • Review whether timelines remain achievable within available resources

Budget & Resource Planning

  • Evaluate project budgets, cost assumptions, and resource allocations
  • Review staffing plans and capacity requirements
  • Assess trade-offs involving scope, budget, timeline, and available resources
  • Identify inconsistencies between project objectives and resource plans
  • Evaluate whether proposed financial and staffing decisions are operationally realistic

Procurement & Vendor Coordination

  • Review project scenarios involving procurement and external suppliers
  • Assess purchasing timelines, dependencies, and vendor-related considerations
  • Identify procurement risks that could affect project delivery
  • Evaluate coordination between procurement activities and broader project schedules
  • Review recommendations for managing external dependencies

Stakeholder Communication

  • Evaluate project status reports, updates, and stakeholder communications
  • Assess whether risks, decisions, progress, and dependencies are communicated clearly
  • Review escalation and issue-management approaches
  • Identify missing context or ineffective stakeholder messaging
  • Assess whether communication is appropriate for technical, operational, and executive audiences

Comparative Project Review

  • Compare alternative project-management responses or approaches
  • Assess outputs based on planning rigour, execution feasibility, and stakeholder relevance
  • Identify meaningful differences between stronger and weaker approaches
  • Evaluate whether proposed decisions reflect realistic project constraints
  • Provide clear reasoning supporting evaluation decisions

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

  • Review project-management work products for quality and accuracy
  • Identify substantive planning, execution, financial, and communication weaknesses
  • Distinguish material project risks from minor presentation issues
  • Provide precise, evidence-based written feedback
  • Apply evaluation standards consistently across assignments

Ideal Profile

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience in project management or a closely related role
  • Experience as a Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, Program Manager, Project Coordinator, Project Management Specialist, or similar professional
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating schedules, timelines, procurement, staffing, and budgets
  • Experience supporting technical or cross-functional projects
  • Strong understanding of project planning, execution, dependencies, and risk management
  • Ability to assess the feasibility and quality of project-management decisions
  • Strong stakeholder-management and written communication skills
  • Strong written English communication
  • Ability to work independently and provide precise professional feedback

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Availability of 20+ hours per week
  • Immediate start
  • Initial project duration of approximately 4–6 weeks
  • Compensation: $60–$100/hour for hourly project work
  • The initial assignment is task-based; contributors who successfully complete and receive approval for their first task may then qualify for hourly work for the remainder of the project
  • Work includes evaluation of project plans, status reports, stakeholder communications, schedules, budgets, staffing, procurement decisions, and related project-management workflows
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
  • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
