Remote | French Content Evaluation Specialist — $40–$45/hour

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for bilingual French and English professionals to review and evaluate written content for advanced AI safety and quality projects.

This role focuses on applying French-language fluency, cultural judgement, and structured reasoning to sensitive content. Selected professionals will create French-language prompts, classify conversations against established guidelines, identify adversarial patterns, and document clear rationales for their decisions. Prior AI or machine-learning experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

French-Language Content Development

• Write high-quality prompts in French across a range of subject areas
• Produce natural, culturally appropriate language reflecting native or near-native French usage
• Adapt wording and scenarios to different contexts and levels of complexity
• Ensure written materials are precise, coherent, and linguistically accurate

Content Review & Classification

• Review prompts and conversations against structured evaluation guidelines
• Classify content consistently according to defined criteria
• Identify relevant contextual and linguistic nuances
• Distinguish between superficially similar cases requiring different judgements
• Document the reasoning behind classification decisions

Safety & Adversarial Content Evaluation

• Identify adversarial phrasing and escalation patterns
• Evaluate how sensitive or dual-use topics are presented
• Recognise attempts to reframe or obscure potentially problematic requests
• Apply sound judgement to ambiguous content
• Provide clear written explanations supporting review decisions

Language & Cultural Judgement

• Evaluate whether French-language content sounds natural and contextually appropriate
• Apply cultural knowledge when interpreting tone, meaning, and intent
• Identify linguistic ambiguity or wording that could materially change interpretation
• Assess differences between literal meaning and likely practical meaning
• Maintain consistent quality across diverse French-language content

Structured Written Reasoning

• Provide concise and well-supported rationales for review decisions
• Apply guidelines consistently while exercising professional judgement
• Explain nuanced decisions clearly in written English where required
• Maintain strong attention to detail across repeated evaluation tasks
• Identify edge cases that may require additional consideration

Ideal Profile

• Native or near-native French fluency
• Business-level written English
• Bachelor's degree completed or currently in progress
• Strong written reasoning and analytical judgement
• High attention to detail
• Sound judgement when reviewing sensitive or dual-use information
• Comfortable applying structured guidelines to ambiguous content
• Prior AI or machine-learning experience is not required
• Experience reviewing, grading, or evaluating written or technical content is advantageous
• Background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, red teaming, or adversarial testing is advantageous
• Candidates based in France or wider Western Europe are particularly encouraged to apply, although applicants from other locations are also welcome

Engagement Details

• Part-time independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
• Compensation: $40–$45/hour
• Immediate start
• France or Western Europe is preferred but not required
• Training on the project workflow is provided
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
• Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
