About the job Remote | Physics Expert (Gravitation / Cosmology / Astrophysics) — $80–$160/hour
We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced Physics Experts in gravitation, cosmology, astrophysics, and mathematical relativity with strong expertise in first-order Palatini gravity, tetrad and spin-connection formalisms, Dynamical Chern–Simons gravity, Pontryagin density, cosmological ODE systems, torsion, and Planck-unit normalisation.
Selected professionals will contribute to a frontier research-level physics benchmark spanning modified gravity, Palatini tetrad formulations, FRW cosmology, quadratic inflation, and related gravitational systems. Depending on expertise and seniority, contributors may participate as Solvers, Auditors, or Adjudicators. No prior experience in AI is required.
Key Responsibilities
Palatini Gravity & Geometric Formalism
- Develop and review solutions using first-order gravitational formulations
- Work with independent tetrad and spin-connection variables
- Derive field equations, curvature, and torsion contributions
- Verify local Lorentz structure, index conventions, signs, and normalisation
- Compare alternative geometric formulations for mathematical consistency
Chern–Simons Gravity & Cosmology
- Analyse Dynamical Chern–Simons and related modified-gravity models
- Evaluate parity-violating terms, scalar couplings, and Pontryagin-density contributions
- Determine when symmetry assumptions suppress or preserve modified-gravity terms
- Formulate and analyse torsion-modified Friedmann equations
- Interpret departures from standard FRW dynamics across relevant cosmological regimes
ODEs, Numerical Analysis & Benchmark Review
- Derive and solve coupled nonlinear cosmological ODE systems
- Apply analytical and numerical integration methods and assess sensitivity to initial conditions
- Use Planck-unit normalisation and verify dimensional consistency
- Audit derivations, numerical implementations, and physical interpretations
- Produce complete solutions, technical reviews, or adjudications depending on project role
Ideal Profile
- PhD or equivalent advanced research experience in Physics
- Strong background in gravitation, cosmology, astrophysics, or mathematical relativity
- Hands-on experience with first-order Palatini gravity
- Strong knowledge of tetrad and spin-connection formalisms
- Familiarity with torsion and modified-gravity corrections
- Experience with Dynamical Chern–Simons gravity and Pontryagin density
- Ability to derive and solve nonlinear cosmological ODE systems
- Strong numerical-integration and analytical reasoning skills
- Experience interpreting modified Friedmann dynamics
- Practical familiarity with Planck-unit normalisation
- Ability to produce rigorous research-level written explanations
- No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required
