We are looking to hire a Electrical Technician for our client in KSA.

The primary function of the job is to perform necessary repairs and maintenance on electrical/automation equipment and machinery within the plant facility in a safe and efficient method and to ensure minimal production downtime in adherence to the environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines and good Housekeeping of all maintenance areas daily.

Ensures accurate documentation of completed works/activities on the computerized maintenance management system. The incumbent is required to troubleshoot electrical/automation problems and ensure that corrective/preventive actions are assigned and performed. Update all documents and participate in continuous improvement opportunities in reliability.

As the incumbent reports to the Central Maintenance Department, he is responsible to attend, as and when deployed, electrical maintenance and troubleshooting activities in CRU, HSM, TCM, Finishing, and Auto sheet areas also. He should participate as a team member in the troubleshooting of maintenance issues at CRU/HSM/TCM/Finishing and Auto Sheet.

Detailed Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works with Electrical Lead technician and reports to Shift supervisor.
  • Provides Electrical/ Automation cover for the respective shifts for the operational needs of the plant.
  • Provides a Specialist Electrical/ Automation Service to operations and engineering areas.
  • Maintains a safe working environment throughout the unit ensuring that potential hazards to people, plants, and the Environment are identified and that adequate control measures are implemented through risk assessment and appropriate control measures ensuring that Company Safety Policy is fully implemented.
  • Plans and organizes major maintenance requirements in close liaison with the operations & engineering departments
  • Issues permit to work and LOTO-V method statements in accordance with the safety procedures.
  • Recommends and effects plant modifications for plant immobilization procedures to ensure safe working practices, and to improve plant availability, performance,      and quality.
  • Identifies business and safety-critical spares for all operational plants. Manage stock levels of critical spares and repairs so that plant disruption is minimized.
  • Be the plant expert on Drives, PLC control, Furnace, Electrical, and automation systems in Rolling Mills
  • Investigates equipment failures using the latest techniques and initiate procedures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Updates eAM database to ensure secure historical data including work requests, completed work lists, preventative maintenance plans, budgetary control, plant availability & component failure rates. Promote the use of systems across the department and ensure that personnel is adequately trained.
  • Be aware of all Health and Safety statutory requirements and ensure compliance with all Maintenance activities.
  • Provides Engineering support to the development and implementation of programs for quality, yield, and throughput to achieve business targets.
  • Implements a preventative maintenance program utilizing the latest condition monitoring technology and initiates remedial actions prior to failure
  • Controls local engineering records to ensure that modifications are recorded
  • Implements and adheres to the Department's Environmental Management system (ISO14001) current systems.
  • Supports and utilizes the various skills available including production and contractor personnel, and identifies the training and development needs of the team.
  • Plans work and order spare for remedial work to be carried out on future planned maintenance shifts.
  • Maintains TPM & 5S practices in the working area.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Technology.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in large or mid-sized industrial electrical maintenance.

Skills:

  • Skill in handling the plant and processes, large electrical VVVF drives, and PLC control.
  • Able to Maintain and Troubleshoot measuring equipment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical and Automation equipment.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of Furnace and Oven Equipment.
  • Knowledge of Company Safety, Health & Environmental requirements, and guidelines.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills

  • Confined Spaces
  • § Working at Heights
  • § Electrical Permit.
  • Able to coordinate and direct resources with contractors and operational teams.
  • IT literate: MS Office products e.g. Excel, Word
  • Capable of carrying out contractor induction.
