We are currently seeking a reliable and skilled On-Island Driver, also known as a Buggy Driver, to join our team. This position is based in Saudi Arabia and involves providing transportation services on the island.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a cheerful, helpful and friendly attitude towards colleagues, on-island staff and guests alike, and provide a courteous and professional service at all times.
  • Drive guests in the buggies as required, following schedules or routes defined by the Site Supervisor, or Dispatcher, and based on guest requests.
  • Answer all guest questions with a high level of knowledge about island facilities and services.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers, staff, and management to provide seamless service.
  • Handle any passenger complaints or issues in a professional manner.
  • To provide guests assistance with luggage, baby strollers etc when required, ensuring it is handled with care.
  • Porter/baggage handling duties as required (movement of baggage from luggage ferry to/from Assets), securing luggage inside cargo areas of luggage cages / transport, and delivering unclaimed or lost luggage to the correct asset or guest
  • Be an expert on the function and operation of all buggy controls, gauges and warning lights.
  • Maintain a valid buggy-driving license, and operate the buggy in accordance with all local laws and regulations.
  • Record usage of buggies as required, ensuring close communication with the dispatcher and Site Supervisor.
  • To assist in ensuring that all buggies are kept well maintained and clean at all times, any technical fault should be reported to the Site Supervisor.
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections to ensure the buggy is in good working order.
  • Follow all safety rules when driving the buggy and drive with utmost care, making sure that neither passengers nor passing guests come to any harm.
  • Ensure sufficient charging of the electric buggies to facilitate consistent operations.
  • Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to management, monitoring battery water, brake, lights etc on a daily basis before using a buggy
  • Assist guests with directions around the Island.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Working for long periods of time exposed to heat.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures. 
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by management.

Background, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate in English (mandatory), Arabic (preferred), and other languages (preferred)
  • Excellent guest service skills, ability to engage with guests and provide courteous service.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • Physical ability to assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage, handling up to a minimum of 30kg.
  • Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ideally 1 year of experience driving a buggy or similar vehicle. 
  • Experience in a similar role and/or within guest services at a major hotel group / hotel management company is preferred
