About the job Process Engineering Manager
We are looking to hire Process Engineering Manager for our client in KSA.
Manage the Process Engineering activities of plants at Ras Al-Khair to ensure that adequate support is provided to plant operations by way of process engineering and optimization of the plant operations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategy
- Contribute to the development of the Process Engineering strategy for the Ras Al-Khair Plants in line with the vision, mission, and business objectives of the company
Leadership
- Ensure the effective achievement of Process Engineering functional objectives through the leadership of the Process Engineering Services functions at the plant site setting team and individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and plant performance
- Manage the activities of assigned department staff and perform supervision at the level established by Management for the job role
- Co-ordinate with the training department for the training of department staff, including graduates assigned to the department
Policies, Processes & Procedures
- Develop and ensure implementation of functional policies, processes, procedures, and controls covering all areas of Process Engineering activity at Ras Al-Khair so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering the appropriate quality, and targeted production from the plants in a cost-effective manner
- Review such policies, processes, procedures, programs, and rules and recommend changes and updates.
- Ensure their proper implementation as approved by the management
Health, Safety, and Environment
- Participate in the development of an operational HSE Management System in order to ensure that all MPC Process Engineering staff implement standard HSE processes and operating procedures
- Participate in the development and execution of an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) in line with best practices and international standards
Budgets and Plans
- Prepare the annual operational and capital expenses financial budget and manage the Process Engineering department activities in accomplishing those budgets.
- Recommend the Process Engineering plans and provide input to Process Engineering budgets for the year based on the plans.
- Supervise and control manpower, capital, and expense budgets relating to the department
Technical Projects
- Monitor and control the completion of various Technical projects within project parameters e.g. Cost, timelines, quality, and functionality
- Effectively manage the consulting companies engaged to provide Process Engineering advice to ensure that the Company gets the best value for money and the appropriate functionality that is sought
- Explore the identification of possible synergies with other projects which would enhance the project value
Quality
- Ensure the quality of raw materials and intermediate in the different plant facilities meets the quality specifications. Resolve quality problems in discussions with customers and suppliers of raw materials.
- Ensure all products manufactured meet or exceed company quality specifications through appropriate processes like Process Optimization and continuous Quality Control.
Process Engineering
- Manage Process Engineering in order to ensure that the process control systems are fully optimized and accomplish Business Plan goals.
Catalyst Life Cycle Management
- Manage and coordinate the working and evaluation of catalyst performance throughout its life in the processing unit to determine when it needs to be replaced, and precious metal reclamation is required. This includes the evaluation and selection of vendors for the purchase of catalysts.
Purchase of Process Chemicals
Approve, within limits of authority, or otherwise recommend the purchase of chemicals needed to keep the process running continuously. This includes the evaluation and selection of vendors.
MIS and Reports
Ensure the preparation of periodical MIS and progress reports to keep top management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision making
Qualification: Degree in Chemical Engineering with training in management.
Experience: 15 years in the Chemical or Petrochemical industry, with at least 8 of those years in a managerial role in Process Engineering services.
