About the job Lead Process Engineer
We are looking to hire Lead Process Engineer for our client in KSA.
The Process Engineer's primary responsibilities include plan, managing, and overseeing all elements of production in CRU. Assess and analyze current production methods, develop, and draft an improved production process. Provide technical support to the entire CRU team. Design and implement cost-reductive changes, and maximize the productivity of machinery and people. Follow product specifications and quality control measures. Determine which machines, tools, equipment, etc. will be used and where they will be stationed in the facility. Train, supervise, and manage production line workers. Increase speed and efficiency of processes without compromising quality. Develop and implement process/production control measures that effectively monitor products and guarantee desired results. Ensure all steps of the production run smoothly and efficiently in compliance with EHS regulations and procedures. The Job Holder develops and implements metallurgical practices and processing parameters for production operations to ensure conformity to customers' specifications and requirements. Passes final disposition on materials that do not conform to standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Environment, Health & Safety
- Coordinates with the EHS team about any action they take to comply with the EHS act or regulations.
- Takes reasonable care of his health and safety in the workplace. He must also take reasonable care for the health and safety of others who may be affected by what he does or does not do.
- Leads and conducts key safety initiatives such as employee safety meetings and toolbox discussions, risk assessments, EHS audits, and environmental compliance monitoring. Participate in leading safety incidents investigations.
- Continuously monitors all safety and compliance standards and ensures all are met or exceeded.
- Cooperates with the EHS team about any action they take to comply with the EHS Act or Regulations.
- Contributes to near misses and incident reporting.
- Contributes to Quality and EHS Audits.
Production
- Ensures measurement and testing equipment operation by following operating instructions.
- Provides technical support across CRU and provides pertinent product data to technical service personnel as required.
- Develops new Product Masters.
- Reviews CRU manufacturing capabilities.
- Initiates new product standards when required.
- Works on product and process improvement and supports projects as directed
- Achieves the target for production tonnage.
- Achieves the target yield.
- Achieves the target availability of the plant.
Quality
- Defines and implements all the process control parameters across the CRU.
- Monitors product qualities by using the right methods to ensure the product is within the quality parameters.
- Ensures all process inputs are checked and conformed to the approved specifications; process inputs include furnace metal samples and achieved quality target.
- Participates in defect analysis and problem resolution.
- Lead new product quality plans

Management
- Support customer cantered quality programs, continuous improvement projects, and lean manufacturing initiatives. Getting Information - observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
- Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of processes and production equipment, quality control standards, or product design.
- Develops and trains employees on quality systems and compliances.
Continuous Improvement
- Utilizes problem-solving techniques, teamwork-building strategies, process control, and continuous improvement tools to meet or exceed the facility's key operating statistics.
- Promote best working practices in all production areas to achieve effectiveness, control, and efficiency.
- Establish and facilitate departmental procedures which in turn enhance the production and efficiency of the department while supporting safety policies and procedures.
- Achieve all relevant KPIs and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Environment
- Ensures that the area is responsible and in compliance with environmental regulations and company guidelines. Responsible for investigative reporting of significant incidents.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS
Educational Qualifications
Engineering graduate in a Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mechanical field or consideration of an equivalent combination of education (Metallurgical science degree) is highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Metallurgical process/Quality Control in Aluminum Casting or Recycling or Rolling. Experience leading in operations, quality, development, project management, and engineering in a manufacturing process environment with significant proven supervisory experience.
- Operational experience in the production department of a rolling mill or can recycling is highly preferable.
- Detailed technical knowledge of the specific process being operated is required.
- Enterprise Resource Planning systems experience.
- Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Understanding of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 14001.
- Required excellent spoken and written English.
Skills and Attributes
- Extensive knowledge of the aluminum industry and related business acumen.
- Proficient user of Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis tools.
- Experience in root cause analysis, statistical analysis, and leadership skills.
- Achievement-orientated and able to work under stress.
- Strong motivation and history to develop personnel to full potential.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to interpret technical metallurgical/production problems.
- Ability to accurately compile, interpret and apply different data to improve metallurgical practices
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and customers.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risks electrical shock, and risk of vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The Process Engineer may be required to work additional hours, working nights or weekends as needed and being on call in the event of emergencies.
