About the job Senior Mechanical Engineer
We are looking to Hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our client in KSA.
The senior mechanical engineer is responsible for managing the company's project activities required to take the mechanical engineering function for the project through the design, construction, and mobilization phase to an operating company. An understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, material science, and structural analysis. Mechanical Engineers use these core principles, along with tools like Computer Aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices, and more.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Scope, and process control.
- Manages the mechanical scope of the project as well as the associated technical and commercial challenges to reach the goals of the project.
- Manages successful interrelations of the project with respect to the phosphate, and infrastructure projects, managing the technical and commercial interfaces to support those projects.
Project activities
- manages the mechanical engineering activities of the owner engineer and EPC contractors and ensures the appropriate standards for design and construction are used to ensure the long-term safe and efficient operation of the power plant.
HAZOP
- Manages the EPC contractors and ensures that HAZOP or similar studies are undertaken at appropriate stages in the development of the project and that risks identified are addressed in the engineering design.
Project plans
- updates project plans to reflect progress and ensures the timely completion of the project, highlighting key milestones and critical paths.
Project budget
- manages the delegated budget activities for the project, including tracking expenses against the budget.
- Prepare annual business plan submissions.
Consultants
- Following up on the consultant's deliverables to ensure timely submission of reports and quality of work.
Models
- Using project economic models with capital and operating cost assumptions.
Standards
- manages and supports the development and implementation of. The company's standards across the project for engineering design and equipment specifications.
Support
- assists and supports the EPC contractor and specialist consultants in conjunction with the owner's team during the commissioning of the power plant to ensure a smooth handover to the operations.
Operating plan
- contributes to the development of the operating plans to achieve the objectives of the financial model and provides management reports that detail project performance in terms of cost and schedule to highlight risks to the project and plan to minimize their impact
Qualifications, experience, and skills.
Bachelor's degree in a mechanical engineering discipline post-degree qualification, project management would be an advantage.
Five to seven years experience in operations/project management, of which five years is related to the design and operation of the modern steam plant.
