A Major Project Delivery Partner construction group with a strong forward pipeline is seeking an experienced Workplace Health & Safety Manager to join its delivery team on a flagship AUD 240 million riverfront residential development located in Kangaroo Point, minutes from the Brisbane CBD. The project comprises two approximately 15-storey residential towers delivering 215 luxury apartments, featuring high-end finishes and amenity-led design, with completion targeted for mid-2027. This is a newly created role, established to strengthen site safety performance, with an immediate focus on formwork and structural works within a self-perform environment.
Reporting to Senior Project Manager and managing a Workplace Health & Safety Officer will be responsible for driving best-practice safety outcomes across site, ensuring compliance, and uplifting safety culture across all work fronts.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation and enforcement of WHS systems and site safety compliance
- Driving formwork safety standards across all structural activities
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
- Leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions
- Coaching supervisors and trades to improve safety behaviours and accountability
- Monitoring compliance with WHS legislation, codes, and project requirements
- Reporting safety performance, risks, and initiatives to project leadership
Technical & Experience Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a WHS Officer within construction environments
- Strong understanding of formwork and structural safety risks
- Experience working on mid to high-rise or complex construction projects
- Exposure to or experience with self-performed works (highly regarded)
- Strong working knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and site compliance requirements
- Ability to influence, engage, and hold site teams accountable
