Position Title: Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Leader

Location: Edmonton, AB (Hybrid or Fully Remote)

The Position:

Our Edmonton Client is seeking a passionate and experienced Interim Leader of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) to help them navigate the complex landscape of governance, risk, and compliance. Our client is a dynamic and innovative organization committed to delivering excellence.

As the Interim Leader of GRC, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive governance, risk, and compliance strategy. You will lead the GRC team, ensuring that all business operations are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Your role will involve risk assessment, policy development, compliance monitoring, and providing strategic advice to senior management.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and implement a robust GRC framework.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards.
  • Collaborate with different departments to integrate GRC principles into business operations.
  • Develop and maintain GRC policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the GRC framework.
  • Provide training and support to staff on GRC-related matters.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Lead and mentor the GRC team.

Mandatories (must have to qualify):

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience leading teams in GRC.
  • CISSP Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with direct reports who are accountable to plan service roadmaps.
  • Create learning and development plans in addition to providing direct leadership and coaching and associated activities.
