The Position:
Our client is seeking a results-driven Business Analyst (BA) with experience supporting the transition of cybersecurity services to a Service Provider. This role is critical in the planning, coordination, and execution of service transition activities, ensuring a seamless migration of cybersecurity operational capabilities to the contracted Provider
.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in cybersecurity programs, managed security delivery models, and security operations. The Business Analyst will bridge Cybersecurity teams, business stakeholders, service delivery groups, and vendor partners to ensure that requirements are understood, documented, and executed effectively.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation of functional and non‑functional requirements related to managed security services.
- Develop current‑state and future‑state service models, including processes, workflows, roles, and responsibilities.
- Maintain requirements traceability across transition phases, from discovery through stabilization.
- Support vendor onboarding, offboarding, and service transition activities to ensure continuity of security controls and services.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and vendor teams to define service scope, escalation paths, and operational dependencies.
- Identify transition risks, gaps, and dependencies, and support mitigation planning and decision-making.
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to develop, review, and maintain security standards, procedures, and operational playbooks.
- Translate regulatory, policy, and risk-management requirements into actionable standards and procedures.
- Interpret contractual obligations and translate them into operational requirements and deliverables.
- Contribute to governance, reporting, and stakeholder communications throughout the transition lifecycle.
- Produce high-quality documentation including requirements, process flows, standards, procedures, and transition artifacts.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, security controls, and vendor deliverables.
- Support post-transition stabilization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather requirements and stakeholder feedback.
- Guide stakeholders in optimizing processes with appropriate technology solutions.
- Manage end-to-end requirement tracking and alignment with delivered solutions.
- Develop and coordinate test plans; track testing lifecycle and ensure outcomes align with requirements.
- Support user adoption through training, communication, and documentation.
- Facilitate collaboration between business and technical teams to drive project success.
- Participate in UAT and deployment activities to ensure solutions meet business and security needs.
Mandatories:
- Minimum 5+ years of IT Business Analyst experience supporting complex IT initiatives.
- Strong experience gathering, documenting, and managing technical and business requirements.
- Experience supporting service transitions, technology onboarding, or vendor integration in security or IT operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to communicate requirements to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and coordinate across diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions.
- Understanding of cybersecurity operations, security controls, and managed security service delivery.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
- Experience supporting MSSP environments (advantageous).
- Ability to translate regulatory and risk requirements into business and operational standards.
- Strong understanding of process modelling, service workflows, and operational readiness activities.
- Desirable Business Analysis certifications may include CBAP, CCBA, ECBA.
- Desirable Cybersecurity certifications may include Security+, CC, CISSP, CISM (asset). Desirable IT Service Management certifications may include ITIL (particularly Service Transition).
