About the job Relocate to Saudi Arabia Restaurant Hostess

Our client operates the largest and most dynamic water park in Saudi Arabia, delivering world-class guest experiences within a high-performance, safety-driven environment. With a strong commitment to professional development, the company offers full training, exceptional facilities, and an exciting opportunity to build an international career in a fast-growing leisure and tourism destination.

Role Overview

The Restaurant Hostess is the first and last point of contact for every guest dining with our client. In a world-class 5-star luxury environment, this role transcends simply checking names off a list; it is about curating the arrival experience. The Hostess controls the "flow" of the dining room, maximising revenue through intelligent seating management while ensuring that guests feel genuinely welcomed, recognised, and valued from the moment they step through the door.

The purpose of this position is to manage the restaurant's seating logistics and guest data. The scope involves operating the reservation system, managing the waitlist during peak times, and acting as the communication link between the arrival door and the service team. The Hostess is responsible for capturing vital guest information (preferences, allergies, special occasions) and ensuring it is communicated to the management and culinary teams to enable a personalised service experience.

  • Experience with reservation software is highly advantageous.
  • Strong computer literacy and comfort using iPad/Tablet-based reservation systems.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and clear professional writing skills for email correspondence.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are a significant advantage for engaging with local guests.
  • Poise and Elegance: The ability to maintain a calm, graceful demeanour even when the foyer is crowded with waiting guests.
  • Memory: The ability to remember faces and names is the superpower of a great Hostess.
  • Situational Awareness: Noticing that a table has been waiting too long for a waiter and alerting a manager immediately.
  • Diplomacy: enforcing the dress code (e.g., "No denim" or "Collared shirts only") with tact and politeness, avoiding embarrassment for the guest.
  • Grooming: Impeccable personal presentation, serving as the visual standard for the restaurant.

Responsibilities

Arrival and Seating Management

  • Provide a warm, culturally appropriate 5-star welcome to all guests immediately upon arrival, standing to greet them with a genuine smile.
  • Escort guests to their tables at a comfortable pace (walking with the guest, not miles ahead), pulling out chairs and presenting menus with open-handed gestures.
  • Manage the "Flow of Service," pacing the seating of tables to prevent overloading specific waiter sections or the kitchen pass.
  • Manage the cloakroom area, ensuring guests' personal belongings (golf bags, coats, umbrellas) are stored securely and retrieved efficiently upon departure.

Reservation & Database Management

  • Operate the digital reservation system (e.g., Lightspeed, SevenRooms, OpenTable, ResDiary) with expert proficiency, maximising table inventory and "turning" tables efficiently during busy periods.
  • Conduct confirmation calls or messages 24 hours prior to service to reduce "no-shows" and confirm special dietary requirements.
  • Maintain the Guest History database, actively updating profiles with notes such as "Prefers sparkling water," "Left-handed," or "Anniversary Date" to facilitate future recognition.

Guest Relations & Communication

  • Recognise Club Members and VIP dignitaries by name immediately upon entry, alerting the Restaurant Manager to their arrival.
  • Handle telephone inquiries professionally, possessing full knowledge of the menu, operating hours, and dress code to answer questions accurately.
  • Bid a warm farewell to all departing guests, asking for feedback on their experience and inviting them to return.

Operational Support

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the Host Desk and entrance foyer, ensuring menus are clean, uncreased, and current.
  • Assist the service team during "all hands on deck" situations by clearing tables or refilling water, ensuring the guest experience never suffers.
